Grace looked at Tessa’s thin, pale face and felt a wave of unbearable sorrow surge through her.
She stared straight at the chief, her tone firm and cold. “You’d better give me a proper reason why I’m not allowed to go in.”
The chief looked at her, helpless, but in the end, turned his gaze to Albert.
“Actually, this matter is something I need to speak to you about.”
Albert stiffened the moment he was mentioned, and for some reason, a bad feeling rose in his chest, especially when he looked at Julian, who had kept his head down the entire time.
Even with him here, Julian never once looked up.
