Aurora hesitated, unsure how to begin.
She simply shook her head. “I’ll speak to her in a bit.”
Her expression revealed nothing, but it was clear she wasn’t about to explain anything to the butler.
“Alright then.”
Arnold understood perfectly.
He realized that asking what she intended to discuss with Grace wasn’t exactly appropriate.
It was a personal matter, and it wasn’t his place to pry.
He quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, Miss Aurora. I overstepped.”
Aurora didn’t take it to heart.
She gave a small shake of her head. “It’s fine. I know you didn’t mean anything by it.”
She spoke as she made her way inside.
Seeing this, Arnold gave up trying to stop her.
He really had no authority to do anything.
He was just staff–he couldn’t actually block a family member from entering.
Everything now depended on how Grace would handle things.
Thinking it over, Arnold figured it probably wouldn’t be a big deal.
They were all family, after all.
Whatever happened next was up to Grace.
As Aurora stepped into the house, the first thing she saw was Tessa eating happily at the table while Grace hovered nearby, fussing over her.
The sight sent a sharp pang through Aurora’s chest.

But she had no idea how to react.

To her surprise, even when Aurora walked in, Grace didn’t change a thing.

And when she saw Aurora, she greeted her with a cheerful smile.

Aurora didn’t respond. Her eyes settled on the dishes.
Judging by the presentation, she could tell they’d been cooked by her mother.

When she came home, there had been none of this.
But Tessa?
What had she done to deserve this?
She had already told Grace everything–that Tessa had een in league with Julian.

She honestly hadn’t expected Aurora to show up today. The whole situation had caught her off guard.
But now that she was here, hiding from it wouldn’t be right either.
