I was stunned, unable to say a word.

“I saw you eyeing it at the auction, ” Cassian said. “So, I bought it for you.”
What?
I wondered if I heard wrong. Cassian never said things like that. He never gave me a single gift that wasn’t secretly from Grandpa. He always made me feel like I didn’t deserve anything from him.
Why is Cassian suddenly being so generous? And of course, Claire knew exactly how to use Reyna to push my buttons. But with our divorce looming, there’s no reason for him to be this
nice to me anymore.
I pushed myself up from my seat, my voice firm. “I don’t need this, Cassian. Seriously. Just take it back.”
Cassian was still trying to talk when I just walked back to the staircase leading to my bedroom.
“Gemma, stop!”
Cassian had never noticed how i always stormed off when I was

mad. I never even given him a chance. Maybe my constant anger toward him was starting to push the limit.
“You’re staying at Blackwell Mansion tonight,” he said, his voice turning cold. “Your bags are already here.”
Mentioning the luggage just made me even angrier. Cassian thought he could decide where I stayed without asking me?
“Am I your fucking puppet?” I shot at him. “I refuse.”
“My grandpa and your mom already noticed something’s going on. If they find out you moved out, Grandpa will worry even more, For his health, you should move back.” Cassian said. But he wasn’t finished.
“Don’t forget how much you owe my grandfather.
Yes, I know. Thanks to Donovan, I was able to pay off that huge debt. Even if Cassian and I get divorced, I still owe that old Alpha. In a way, he saved me in that situation.
“All right, I’ll stay,” I agreed, but not completely.
After seeing the victorious look in Cassian’s eyes, I added, “But I have conditions.”
“First, my mom’s house goes to me in the divorce. Second, we split everything 50/50. Lastly, while we’re still married, we stay out of each other’s personal lives.”

Damn it, I just wanted to get this divorce over with. I never cared about splitting assets.
But since Cassian insisted on giving me something, why not lake it? In his eyes, I was always just a gold digger anyway.
Staying out of each other’s personal lives was my way of compromising with him and Reyna. I could pretend not to see their sweet moments.
Cassian scoffed. “So, it’s all about money.‘
Of course, that hit a nerve.

“Don’t push me. Seaside Manor is worth over 80 million dollars. You should be satisfied.“.
“That was already mine. My mom left it to me. But I was married to you for three years. Don’t I deserve more?”
I didn’t back down. Yes, I was a gold digger.
“So, you’re in such a hurry to divorce me just to take half of my assets?” Cassian raised a brow. He was obviously angry,
“Haven’t you always known? I’m a greedy woman.”
I replied coldly. I had explained myself countless times before, and he never believed me. There was no point in trying again.

“If you really want me to stay, you’ll have to agree to my terms.”
I glared at him, firm and unyielding. The tension in the room thickened. I could see his chest rising and falling with anger, and I could even sense his wolf stirring restlessly beneath his skin.
After what felt like ages, Cassian finally spoke again.
“The money and the mansion are yours, but the last condition is a no–go.”
I was confused. Why?
Wasn’t staying out of each other’s personal lives exactly what he and Reyna wanted?
“Until we’re divorced, you don’t get a private life. Or are you planning to flirt with other men while still being Mrs. Blackwell?”
His words pissed me off.
“You’re such a hypocrite!”
“What do you mean?” he growled, angry.
“Go ask the flight team in the pack who your real mate is! I’ve already stepped out of your life. I hope you’ll stay out of mine too.”

Chapter 82
Our marriage ended a long time ago. I loved this Alpha for three years, and in the end, I got nothing but heartbreak.
Until the divorce was final, I couldn’t stop Cassian from lying to me, and I definitely couldn’t stop him from being with Reyna. But I refused to sink into that misery again. I wouldn’t be that pathetic. The best thing I could do was stay distant, move forward, and never look back.
I turned and headed upstairs.
But the moment I took a step, strong hands grabbed my shoulders and spun me around.
The next second, his warm lips crashed onto mine.
