Makahi’s POV:
Waiting for her to disappear from view I head back in the hospital. I mind link Shadow are the girls in the room with Ji’lahni? “No, the doctor took Ming into a room to patch her up Shawna is here with her.” He responded. I headed to Ji’lahni room to talk to her alone before her cousins came in full of energy. I could hear a small growl coming from her room. Frowning suspiciously, I open the door and see Ji’lahni attempting to stand and failing as soon as she stands upright, she sways before almost falling I reach her before she hits the floor. “What the hell do you think you’re doing? The doctor said bedrest you know that means you actually have to stay in bed?” I whispered furiously “I know but I had to pee, and no one was in here, so I was going to go on my own. I was doing just fine.”
She said stubbornly as she wrapped her arms around my neck tucked her face in the crook of my neck, I can feel her soft breath on my skin and her lips so close to my neck that the blood shoots straight to my groin and I groaned at the sudden hard on that pressured painfully against my pants. Needing to put some space between us pushed the bathroom door open and sat her on the toilet before closing the door hurriedly. I had to take a deep breath to get my wolf under control. It was clawing at me to claim Ji’lahni he wanted to mark who he believed was his mate he didn’t know why I was questioning who the moon goddess chose as our other half. Because no human has ever been chosen as a mate by the moon goddess, so it has to be a mistake. It has to be whatever is in her blood that’s making you think she’s ours.
I sighed as Maka growled I’m disagreement with my theory but retreated in the back of my consciousness. Finally getting myself under control I peeked into see if Ji’lahni was done. I had left the lights off so it would disorient her or cause blinding pain. “Are you done?” I whispered loudly. She answered “yes.” Walking over and picking her up with ease she felt so soft so perfect in my arm that I wanted to make sure I memorized how she felt in my arms in this moment I just stood there in the dark looking down at her beautiful face. Even though she doesn’t know it I could see she was trying to find where my face could be. To help her out I leaned in and whispered. “Are you looking for me?” She seemed startled but immediately brought her hands to touch my face and damn it if my wolf wasn’t back trying to push forward to get closer to her. Kept my eyes close because I know my eyes would be glowing and I didn’t want to scare her.
1 feel her trembling a little. Her hand still on my face, I needed to stop this before it started, and I ruin everything I have ever worked, for as well as ruin my relationship with Summer. Sighing with regret and feeling my heartbeat faster trying to find the right words. “Baby I know I told you there was something between us and that I felt it too. But the truth is I was wrong. I thought there was, but it must have been in the heat of the moment everything was happening so fast, and I think we both felt things that weren’t truly there.” I whispered sadly opening my eyes I could tell she was shocked and extremely upset at what t said, but in the blink of an eye her face changed to anger. “Look you can only speak for yourself not me. I know what I felt when we touched what I feel even now, that is way more then something. I don’t know what that something is, but don’t you dare try and tell me I don’t feel it.” She said as she dropped her hand from my face, and I immediately wanted her to put it back already missing her touch.
‘I’m sorry I never should have said any of those things I’m mating Summer in two weeks and I need to focus on making sure there is no more rogue attacks.” I said trying to convince myself of the first part. ” Are you in love with her?” She asked somehow looking me dead in the eyes. needing her to understand there is no us. “Yes, I love her.” I said so low that I could barely hear myself. But she definitely heard me by the sound of her trying not to cry. She wiped her eyes, and I could tell the moment she put her guard up, and that hurt me more than anything. “Please take me back to bed now I’m tired and want to sleep.” She whispered, “baby the doctor said you need to stay up for an hour before you go back to sleep.” Glaring at me “Sir my medical condition is none of your concern. I am well aware of what I need to do, I don’t need you to remind me. So just take me back to my bed please. She whispered sadly. I turned walking out of the bathroom I slowly laid her gently on the bed, not wanting to break contact, because this will be the last time we were ever this close again. Then I heard her say. “Fuck it you said you don’t feel the same way about me, and it wasn’t real then this won’t bother you either.
She whispered right before she pulled herself up pressing her lips against mine and it felt like she was killing me and breathing life back into my body. Before I knew it, I was on the bed with her careful not to put my weight on her. Damn it she even tasted like watermelon and heaven. She wrapped her arm around my neck and broke our kiss to lick my neck and nip me a little and that had my eyes glowing, but she didn’t notice, because she was still licking and kissing my neck. Pulling away from her, I turned so she couldn’t see my eyes, or my teeth which had elongated, ready to mark her as mine. That would be a total disaster. “Sorry I have to go this was a mistake.” I said as I rush out of the door and almost ran into her cousins who eyed me suspiciously. Looking at Shadow. “Get Hunter to guard her until the doctor releases her.” I mind linked. He nodded, I needed to run, clear my head, and shower, before I head to my house where Summer was waiting. “Hey, meet me on the west border I need to run.” I mind linked Montego. “Again, I swear she’s got you by the balls.” He responded. If you only knew I said to myself I’m in deep shit.
