Daniel said nothing, just lowered his head and looked at her like she was a clown, waiting for her to
finish her performance.
But the secretary didn’t seem to realize it.
She naively thought that since Daniel hadn’t thrown her out, it meant he still wanted her to explain herself and stay.
Patting her chest, she went on, “Mr. Lewis, don’t worry. I’ll dedicate myself completely to this company
from now on.
“As long as you’re willing to let me stay, give me a chance to make it right.”
Seeing her cry so pitifully, Daniel–who knew what he was thinking–actually bent down, reached out,
