“Mr. Lewis, don’t you think you’re asking a bit too much?” Joseph’s tone rose.
“Too much? I think it’s reasonable,” Daniel replied, casually picking at his ear.
In the end, they would all agree to his terms.
After all, he still had options–besides Joseph, Walton Corporation was also waiting for his decision.
Daniel had always preferred being the one in control, not the one being chosen.
He wanted multiple choices on the table.
Hearing that smug tone made Joseph clench his fists, his pride stung.
But more than anything, he felt helpless.
Just as Daniel had guessed, the leverage was in his hands now.

With an awkward smile and a hint of flattery in his tone, Joseph said, “Alright, Mr. Lewis, let me think it over. I’ll get back to you once I’ve decided.”
“Do make it quick,” Daniel said lazily, gazing out at the view. “You know Walton Corporation is still scheduled to meet me tomorrow.
“If not, maybe I’ll just see them first.”
That made Joseph stiffen.
“Mr. Lewis, don’t you think that’s a little underhanded?”
“But business is all about give–and–take. Where’s the right or wrong in that?” Daniel replied.
With a smile on his face, Daniel spoke into the phone. “Alright, I’m just giving you a heads–up. Call me
when you’ve made up your mind.
“I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll hang up now.”
Without waiting for Joseph’s reply, Daniel ended the call.
Looking at the disconnected screen, he felt an immense satisfaction.

With a loud bang, the crash startled the secretary who had just walked in.
She stared at the shattered remains of the phone scattered across the floor, unsure where to step.
“Sir, what happened?” she asked timidly.
“Perfect timing. Go and get me the cooperation documents for the Southside land project,” Joseph said, struggling to keep his anger in check.
“The more detailed, the better. Bring them to me immediately.”
The secretary was still a little dazed.
Out of nowhere, he wanted those documents, and he’d smashed his phone in such a fury.
“What are you standing there for? Go!”
