To say that I was enraged right now would be an understatement. After my guards returned home without Elena, I almost snapped one of their throats. I was so consumed with anger that I refused to acknowledge the caretakers lest I lose my anger. I gave them explicit warnings when they were leaving, to not let Elena from their sight, to watch after her and make sure she didn’t try anything stupid.
From the looks of things, it looks like she ran away. Despite me warning her against this very thing, that’s the exact thing she did, and it made me so angry, I saw red. She has run away with one of the people she cheated on her mate with, right?
The thought of that made my mouth twist darkly as I stepped into my office and slammed the door shut.

I abruptly stopped that line of thought because the last part had caught me by surprise. Of course, she wasn’t mine. I didn’t mean it literally, despite my beast feeling extremely murderous right now.
As I sank into my chair, I tried to wonder what she was currently doing. Was she relieved to finally have escaped? After all, she kept asking me for permission to leave over and over again.
I sent for my betas and began to pace around as I waited for them to arrive. As I paced, I tried not to imagine her with another man right now, but it was harder than I expected. That was all I could think about, and with each second, the anger within me worsened even more.
After my betas finally arrived, I ordered them to fish out the contact of Elena’s ex mate. His contact info was somewhere here in my office, in the file containing information of all the packs that I oversee as alpha of alphas. I needed to communicate with him, because that seemed like the only option I had right now after the guards I sent to that mall to go check the CCTV returned with completely nothing.
My betas instantly got to work and I waited till they provided his number and put out a call through to him. He picked the call on the first ring, sounding like he was running till this moment.
“This is the alpha of alphas.” I barked out and he gasped.
“S- sir, this is such an honor…” he was still speaking when I cut him off.
“I need you to come to the palace tomorrow with a list of all the men Elena cheated on you with.” I went straight to the point without beating around the bush. I’d need that list so I’d look into all of them and try to find Elena that way because I feel she’s definitely with one of those men.
“O- oh.” Her mate, Elijah whispered into the phone and I frowned.
“Can’t you do that?” I barked, beyond impatient right now.

“O- of course I can!” He affirmed and after agreeing on a time, the call ended then I dismissed my betas and slumped into my seat.
Of course, my mind instantly drifted towards Elena once again. It wasn’t because I was worried about her or anything, because why would I be when I didn’t care about her? I guess I just hated that she disobeyed me. How dare she?

Something felt off inside of me and my beast was restless. I assumed my beast was restless because he was worried about Elena instead of him to be pissed that she disobeyed us.

It was currently night time and the thought of retiring to bed tonight without knowing where Elena is like a bitter taste in my tongue. After I called her ex mate, I should completely stop thinking about her but alas, that’s not the case at all.
I let out a long sigh as I left my office and headed straight for my bedroom.

When we last spoke about this, I told her she could fuck my father if she wanted. But now I was realizing that I didn’t want her to fuck anyone else, and that thought was… worrying. I was worried about my brain because it seems like it has been infected by some brain eating insects since the moment I was informed that brat went missing.

When I leaned forward to kiss Maya, something made me freeze up at the last moment.

Maya asked if I was okay and tried to kiss me this time but I held her away as the alarms within me increased, then rage began to brew inside of me, so intense and thick, it was hard to breathe for a few seconds. When the mist cleared in my mind, I see that it was my beast emitting this much rage.
‘What is it?!‘ I asked him, and his voice was filled with so much anger as he responded.

I didn’t wait for the sentence to finish.
I let go of Maya and abruptly rolled out of the bed, ignoring her calling out my name as I slid into a pair of pants and picked up a shirt as I exited the room.
The alarm feeling was still intense in my mind, and my fangs wss still aching for reasons I couldn’t even comprehend. My beast was still so angry and I asked him how he knew of what he previously revealed. He said he could feel our mate a little and might be able to follow that tiny thread to where she might currently be in. I was grateful for that as I started the car and left my betas and all their questions behind.
As I drove like a maniac, my heart was racing so fast, I almost got into accidents more than once, and my beast kept scolding me throughout the ride because he blamed me for this whole situation. Apparently. If I had gotten over myself and fully marked her, we’d have been able to tell where she’s currently in by just feeling for her through the mate bond, but now we have to hope that we’re even in the right path.
My beast wasn’t sure of what was actually to Elena, he just felt like men were touching what belonged with him. And I kept driving, I briefly wondered if that’s one of the people she ran off with? Perhaps she ran off with more than one person? I’ll have to kill someone tonight.
My beast led me to an old looking building and I stared at it feeling unsure, but after the alarm feeling inside me worsened and my beast urged me on, I burst into the door with a hard kick.
I wasn’t sure of what I expected to see. Maybe my mate riding someone and having the time of her life like the whore painted all over the internet.
Instead, it was the complete opposite.
