Seeing this, Chris also took off his hat.
He said, “Do you think when we get old, we’ll still walk together like this with grey hair?”
“I might be pushing you, or you might be pushing me.”
“That’s why I want you to work out!”
From the 4th to the 10th of January, there was no one else–only the two of them.
Happy times were always short. Returning home meant facing the schemes and struggles of different
people.
Chris wasn’t very used to dealing with these, but for Jessica, he would learn bit by bit.
When business skills couldn’t help, he had to put more effort into other things.
Actually, during these days, Michael kept sending messages and calling Jessica, but since Jessica had promised Chris there would be no one else, she blocked all calls and refused to let Michael contact her.
The first thing Jessica did after landing in Impelia was to go to the Wilder Group, while Chris was picked up by Francesca and taken back to the hospital.
“Currently, the preparations for being listed are almost done. The rest are minor matters requiring signatures from you and Ms. Wilder. All the documents are here. Also, the board members are discussing whether to update the directors of each department.”
Speaking of this, Ashley had only recently become the director of orthopedics. What if the update meant kicking Ashley out?
Ashley’s ability was definitely not a problem. Not only was he working for Jessica, but even if he had come to the Summit Infirmary on his own after graduating, based on ability alone, he deserved to keep the director position.
“Why do you ask? Is this part of the preparations before being listed?” asked Chris.
Francesca nodded. “Sort of. After being listed, we have to keep valuable people. Some department directors can bring their own suppliers, and their business ability is also reviewed.”
“No need.” Chris rejected firmly. “I’m still determined that being a hospital comes first. I have no objection to the Summit Infirmary being listed, but the doctors‘ resources and abilities cannot decline. Tell the board that this is my opinion.”
Originally, Chris had little say in the board. But after Francesca came, she took strong measures to gather most affairs under Chris’s control, personally handling matters.

Now Chris and Francesca could basically make decisions without opposition, while the other board.
members were just empty shells.
Even if the company was listed, they wouldn’t hold many shares.
When Jessica arranged for the hospital to be listed, she had already divided shares and rights, with 80%
held by Chris.
In simple terms, the Summit Infirmary was about to become a company, and Chris was the undisputed
CEO.
“I don’t think there’s anything else. Oh right, Dr. Wood’s family background and personal resume have
been retrieved.” Francesca handed Hector’s personal information to Chris.
“Did you find out who contacted him?”
“That requires contacting the communications operations department. We might need the Cyber Police
to help.”
“Okay, got it. Thanks for your hard work these past couple of days.”
Francesca said that it was nothing. After Chris signed a few documents, she took the files and left.
As soon as the door closed, she happened to see Jamie Cooper.
“Mr. Cooper? Are you here to see the chairman?” asked Francesca.
Jamie glanced at Francesca and lowered his voice. “About the arrangement for department directors…”
“The chairman said it was unnecessary and has already decided to not go through with it.”
