4.Chapter 4 I Want Them Completely Gone
As soon as Ethan finished speaking, his body went limp, and he passed out.
“Ethan?” Luna gently tapped his cheek, calling his name.
At that moment, Neil was already crawling across the floor. He grabbed the gun that had fallen earlier, cursing inwardly, ‘Dang it. Since I joined Penumbra, I’ve never lost a fight. I swear I’m gonna kill the chick today.’
But just as he lifted the gun, Luna, still holding Ethan, moved swiftly, as if she could see what was happening behind her back. She spun around and kicked the weapon right out of Neil’s hand, then drove a brutal kick straight between his legs.
When it came to dealing with scum like this, clean and fast was the only way.
Neil let out a high-pitched scream and collapsed, clutching his groin. He was pretty sure something had just cracked in there.
Right then, Louis walked in and caught the scene. Even though he wasn’t the one hurt, just watching it made his stomach twist. He could practically feel the pain himself.
Louis quickly stepped up and said, “Ms. Blackwood, the area is secure. Shall I bring the doctor to check on the boy right away?”
He reached out to take Ethan from Luna’s arms, but Luna didn’t let go.
“Find out where the rest of these kids came from. Get them home,” Luna said firmly, already heading toward the door.
“Yes, ma’am.” Louis saluted and waved at the other soldiers to handle the children still in the hut.
After making sure the kids were safe, Louis boarded the warplane and found Luna sitting on the sofa with her eyes closed. Even from the side, she looked striking.
Louis reported, “Ms. Blackwood, I’ve started tracking down the kids’s families. They should be able to pick their kids up soon.”
Luna opened her eyes, her voice laced with hate. “Penumbra Group, huh? I give you one day. I want them completely gone.”
She had always despised that company. But now that they had dared to lay a finger on her family, she wasn’t just angry—she was out for blood.
“Got it,” Louis said, almost grateful for the chance. Whenever Luna gave him a mission, it was never just an order. It was an opportunity.
“When you’re done, return to Blaze War Department,” Luna instructed him.
“And you, Ms. Blackwood? You’re not coming back with us?” asked Louis.
Luna replied, “I’ve got something else to take care of.”
She thought, ‘It’s been five years. Time to deal with the ones who hurt my family. They probably think I’m dead. Well, they’re about to learn otherwise.’
Just then, Ethan woke up. It turned out he had only fainted from hunger and was nearly suffocating. Since he opened his eyes, he’d been asking to meet Luna.
The doctor had no choice but to come find Luna. He was nervous—Luna wasn’t exactly known for being warm, and Ethan was loud and clingy. The doctor didn’t want to end up on Luna’s bad side.
But as soon as Luna heard what the doctor said, she rushed over to check on Ethan.
Ethan calmed down the second he saw Luna. He thought to himself, ‘Is that really my sister? I thought I was dreaming just now.’
“Luna, are you really my sister?” Ethan asked, his voice soft and shaky.
Just hearing him speak like that made Luna’s heart ache. She thought, ‘So this is what people call blood ties, huh?’
Ethan said in a pleading tone, “Can we go home, please? Mom misses you a lot. I do too.”
“Yeah, we’ll go home together,” Luna said. She had already decided to go back—whether Ethan asked or not, she was going back.
“Wait, where’s Aiden? Did you see him?” Ethan suddenly remembered his friend. “Can we take him home too? He’s really sick. I think he might die.”
Luna comforted him, “Relax. He’s not going to die.”
With just a look from Luna, Louis instantly left to find the boy named Aiden.
