The guest list today was packed with Metroville’s elite. Ever since the Blackwood family’s decline, Judy hadn’t. been this close to the center of power in a long time.
Now, with so many important figures respectfully greeting Judy one by one, everyone in the Blackwood family was riding high on inflated pride.
“Celeste, go check on Olivia. We can’t affordd any screw–ups tonight,” Judy said to her youngest granddaughter, Celeste Blackwood.
Celeste’s heart was racing after seeing so many powerful people in the lobby. She couldn’t help but dream inwardly. “Maybe one day, I’ll be married into power like Olivia‘
Celeste ran upstairs to find Olivia already dressed and ready. She wore a white dress with a cinched waist that showed off her curves, and her flawless makeup made her look absolutely stunning.
“Wow, you look amazing, Olivia, Celeste said with stars in her eyes.
Why does Olivia get to marry Eliot? Why not me? Celeste thought bitterly, a tinge of jealousy rising in her chest.
Olivia looked at herself in the mirror, clearly pleased with how everything had turned out. Eliot treated her incredibly well and gave her nothing but the best. Without him, the Blackwood family wouldn’t be enjoying this much spotlight.
“Has Luna shown up yet?” Olivia asked.

Olivia had been waiting for this day ever since she heard Luna was back. Luna used to act like she invincible, but now, Olivia had taken everything that was supposed to be Luna’s. Olivia was dying to see Luna’s face now.
“You’re a Five–Star Martial Artist now, and you’re with the Metroville Warfare Division. There’s no way Luna could compare,” Celeste said, piling on the flattery.
Right now, Olivia was the envy of every woman in Metroville. She had power, rank, and a fiancé who was a top commander in the Warfare Division.
“I actually hope she shows up,” Olivia said with a sneer. “Let her watch me take everything that used to be hers.
In Olivia’s eyes, Luna didn’t even matter anymore.
Meanwhile, outside the hotel, Sophia pulled up. The entrance was already packed with reporters and photographers.
The moment Luna stepped out of the car, the flashbulbs exploded in her face. She instinctively raised her hand to block the lights, clearly uncomfortable with the attention.

Whispers rippled through the crowd.

A woman recognized Lama and whispered, “Look, isn’t that Luna Blackwood? Wasn’t she in prison? What’s she doing here?”
Another woman replied, “Come on, with money, anything’s possible. Even ghosts dance when paid.
“She killed someone, remember? A killer walking around like nothing happened? That’s insane,” a man scoffed.
Someone chuckled, “Don’t forget Eliot was supposed to marry her. Tsk, this engagement party is gonna be interesting.”
“She’s been locked up for five years. Even if she’s out, the White family’s never gonna accept someone like her, one chimed in.
Another person commented, “Exactly. Olivia’s part of the Metroville Warfare Division now, and she’s a Five- Star. Luna doesn’t stand a chance.”
Every single word landed in Sophia’s ears. She wrapped her arm around Luna’s shoulder and said, “Honey, if
you
don’t want to go in, we can leave right now.”
It wasn’t a big deal for Sophia. She had even planned to move out of the city.
