Seeing the guards closing in. Sophia immediately stepped in front of Luna and Ethan. As their mother, there was no way she’d let anyone hurt her children.
Sophia demanded. “Judy, what the hell are you doing? I’ve never understood why you just can’t let us go? No. matter what, they’re still your grandchildren.”
Sophia truly didn’t get it. Even back when Donald was alive, Judy always favored Dylan’s side.
Judy’s eyes were cold, burning with a dangerous kind of rage.
“Cut the crap. I don’t need to waste my time with you. Tie them up, she snapped. Judy had no patience for anyone challenging her control.
The guards didn’t hesitate and moved right away, but before they could even touch Luna, she struck. It was a brutal takedown. In seconds, all ten of them were flat on the floor.
Judy stood frozen, her face full of disbelief. She thought, ‘No way. That’s impossible. Luna never had any talent for martial arts before. And these guards are all Three–Star Martial Artists. How the hell did she drop them so fast?‘
“What’s wrong with you idiots?” Judy yelled, her face twisting with fury. “Can’t even handle a good–for- nothing? What the hell are we feeding you for?”
Judy had doubted the reports about Dylan getting beaten up by Luna. She believed someone must’ve helped Luna. But now, she was seeing it with her own eyes. Luna had just taken down ten Three–Stars like it was nothing.
One of the guards tried to crawl back to his feet. He barely managed to prop himself up before collapsing again. This time, he stayed down for good.
Luna looked at the group coldly and threatened. “If you guys walk away now, you might still have a chance to survive. But if you keep helping Judy and doing her dirty work, I’ll just cripple you”
People who trained in martial arts were supposed to protect the weak. But these Blackwood guards had. clearly forgotten why they chose this path. They’d spent years picking on people who couldn’t fight back, especially her mom and her little brother.
“You brat, you’ve got some nerve. I’m your grandmother. What makes you think you can act so tough in front of me?” Judy barked.
She took several steps back, shaking with rage. She thought, “This isn’t just beating up some guards. She’s slapping me in the face in front of everyone.
Luna scoffed, “Grandmother? What kind of grandmother sells her own granddaughter?”
Ever since Luna’s father’s sudden car crash, everything had gone downhill. Judy sold Luna to the Walker family. Then, she tried to sell Ethan to Penumbra Group. All of this proved that Judy never saw them as part of the Blackwood family.

Judy spoke up. “You… Lama, don’t think taking clown ten guards makes you different. Olivia’s with the Metroville Warfare Division now. If she sees what you’ve done, she’ll make sure you pay.”
Jusly finally relaxed a little as she thought of Olivia. She told herself. “That’s right. These guards are nothing. Olivia’s a top officer in the Division. Eliot is even higher up. Luna might be strong, but compared to them, she’s nothing but a loser.”
“Olivia? What about her?” Lan flashed a sneer with contempt. She stepped closer to Judy, slow and steady.
Judy had seen plenty of crazy scenes in her life. The Blackwood family used to be one of the most powerful in Metroville. But ever since Donald died, their status had fallen off a cliff.
“What are you trying to do? Don’t forget I’m your grandmother. You wanna beat me or what?” Judy’s voice trembled slightly. She was completely overwhelmed by Luna’s menacing vibe.
Judy couldn’t help but think, ‘Dang it. The brat used to be nothing, but now, she’s really terrifying.
Luna didn’t even spare Judy a glance. Her cold eyes shifted to Diana instead. “So are you gonna apologize, or do I need to make you?” To Luna, anyone who dared to lay hands on her family must pay
the price.
That one look from Luna was enough to make Diana break out in a cold sweat. Shaking with fear, she looked desperately at Judy and begged, “Madam, I didn’t mean to. Please help me. I swear I mean no offense.”
Judy’s face turned cloudy. She knew clearly that Luna wasn’t just picking on Diana–she was going straight for her. Everyone in the Blackwood family knew Diana was Judy’s right hand.
Judy spoke up. “Luna, don’t push it. Today is Olivia’s big day. Behave yourself until the end of the ceremony. and I might be willing to let you guys walk away from this. But if you-
Luna let out a sharp laugh, cutting Judy off.
“You–Judy’s face turned beet red. She hated being interrupted.
Knowing Luna wouldn’t budge, Judy turned to Sophia instead. “Sophia, you should really think this through. Anyway, we’re still family. Making a scene now won’t do you any good.”
Sophia knew Judy’s threats were very real. Whether it was the Blackwood family or the White family, they were both far more powerful than anything she and her children could take
- on.
She stepped beside Luna, gently tugging her arm. “Luna, it’s okay. I’m fine, so just let it go.”
Sophia had learned to endure over the years. For the sake of her children, there was no humiliation she wouldn’t swallow. It was just a shove, and she could take it.
“Ms. Luna Blackwood, I really didn’t mean it. Please forgive me. You’re always the bigger person, right?” Diana begged. After seeing Luna take out ten Three–Star Martial Artists like it was nothing, she knew damn well she’d stand no chance.
“Luna, see? Diana already said sorry. Let’s just end it here,” Judy said, trying to regain control. “I wanted you to show up today to call off your engagement with Eliot. He and Olivia truly love each other. Staying in the middle helps no one.”

Eliot was once Luna’s fiancé. As long as that engagement stood, Olivia’s place would always be questioned. Judy didn’t want people gossiping behind Olivia’s back.
“Call off the engagement?” Luma sneered, She’d already figured that’s what today was about.
Right then, Olivia and Celeste showed up. Olivia had caught the tail end of what Judy said, and her heart was bursting with pride.
She thought, ‘Doesn’t matter what happened in the past. I’m the future of this family now. Luna has no choice but to step aside.
Despite her satisfaction, Olivia put on a look of sympathy as she stepped forward.
She said, “Luna, I know you’ve always liked Eliot. But he doesn’t feel the same way, I really do love him, and he loves me. Could you please let him go? I’ll give you anything you want. Just please, let me be with him.”
Luna could see right through Olivia’s act. She wasn’t asking–she was trying to humiliate Luna.
“You sure? You’ll give me anything?” Luna asked with a blank expression.
Her cold eyes swept over the room. It had been a long time since she’d felt this relaxed. Ever since she joined the Blaze War Department, every day had been a battlefield.
Now that these people invited her to play games, she was more than
appy to have fun with them.
