Chapter 1180
“Alright, let’s go in.” Aurora led the two of them inside.
The moment they stepped in, they saw an old man dressed like a farmer, sweeping fallen leaves in the
courtyard.
He wore a sun hat, an old cotton undershirt, and shorts. His skin was tanned dark, and in his hands was a large broom, the kind used in the countryside.
Aurora spoke gently as she entered. “Hello, sir. We’re here about renting a place. May I ask if you know
the owner of this house?”
“Don’t know. Leave,” the old man said bluntly, his back still turned to them.
Megan, quick–tempered as always, immediately stepped forward. “Hey, what’s with you, old man? We’re here politely to rent a house. Why can’t you just speak properly?”
She assumed he was just the caretaker sweeping the yard and was surprised at his arrogance.
Aurora, however, pulled her back, stopping her from saying more.
Megan looked at Aurora in confusion, not understanding why she was holding her back.
Ian, observing closely, realized this old man was probably the actual owner.
That was why Aurora restrained Megan because showing disrespect would only ruin their chances of renting the house.
Aurora glanced around at the clean, well–kept yard.
A peach tree stood tall, and everything looked tended with care.
Clearly, this man enjoyed farm work and gardening.
So, she spoke to his interests.
“Sir, I can see you’ve planted fruit trees, and you’ve kept this yard so clean. This must be your home, isn’t it?” Aurora went straight to the point.
The old man paused in his sweeping but quickly resumed, brushing the fallen leaves aside. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
So many people came to look at this house every day. Did they expect him to entertain them all?
Impossible.
Aurora didn’t mind his attitude at all.

Wealthy people often carried a bit of pride. She had dealt with far stranger characters before. Compared to that, this old man was nothing she couldn’t handle.
But Megan wasn’t used to this kind of treatment.
She sat off to the side, cheeks puffed with anger, glaring at the old man, unable to understand why he had
to be so stubborn.
Ian tried to calm her down. “This is normal. He’s wealthy, and to own a place in this location, having a bit of a temper isn’t unusual.”
“Renting a house is renting a house. What’s with all this nonsense about finding the ‘right person‘? So
strange,” Megan muttered, still not getting it.
Aurora, however, refused to give up.
She walked over to the old man, picked up another broom, and began sweeping the courtyard alongside him. “Since you don’t know the owner, I’ll just help you tidy up while we wait for him to come back.”
The old man turned to her in surprise. “Girl, why are you so stubborn?”
“It’s fine. I don’t really have anything else to do. Keeping you company and chatting a bit isn’t so bad,”
Aurora said with ease.
Her attitude nearly made the old man laugh in exasperation.
“So you’re telling me you’re not like all the others who’ve come knocking?” he asked.
After all, he had seen countless people come by to view the house, most of them driven off quickly by his
coldness.
But this girl… she had actually picked up a broom and started helping him clean.
It was something he had never encountered before.
