The two of them stood at the door and saw someone running over from a distance.
The person stopped in front of Chris, seemingly saying something.
Chris caught a glimpse of Roy out of the corner of his eye and waved his hand. “Over here.”
Maggie didn’t know why they had come, but since Jessica wasn’t around and Chris was her husband, so he was basically half of the decision–maker at the Wilder Group.
Of course, Chris wouldn’t interfere with company decisions, he was a person who knew his limits.
“Is Jennifer here?” asked Roy.
‘So they’re here for Jennifer,‘ thought Maggie.
Maggie nodded and led them along the corridor, signaling the receptionist as they passed.
The special elevator for Jessica opened, and the group went inside.
“Jennifer came early this morning. She said she had some business to take care of and is still in her office now. I’ll take you over.”
“Okay.”
After they arrived at the floor, Maggie led them toward Jennifer’s office.
Before they could get close, they heard someone yelling inside.
Maggie stopped, feeling a little embarrassed as she looked at Roy.
“Jennifer has a bad temper. She’s been working overtime at the company these past few days, so she often acts like this. I hope you won’t mind, Captain Felton.”
Roy waved his hand.
“I’m here to ask Jennifer for help. Luke is missing, and there’s still no call from kidnappers. We don’t know if it’s a kidnapping or something else. I want Jennifer to help check if we missed any surveillance footage.”
The city’s surveillance system was definitely complete, so theoretically there shouldn’t be any footage they couldn’t access.
But there were always a few encrypted cameras that ordinary people had no right to check.
Maybe Luke had appeared at one of those encrypted surveillance points.
Such cameras were usually very hidden and unknown to outsiders.

Actually, they had already started suspecting Michael.
But Michael was rarely in the country and had just returned as Elfa.
He definitely wouldn’t know about the encrypted cameras.
“Wait here. I’ll go in,” said Maggie, knocking on the door.
There was no response, so she pushed the door open.
The curtains in the room were drawn, and the lights were off.
There was a smell of tobacco in the office.
Jennifer rarely smoked and would only smoke when she was in a particularly bad mood.
But the smell in the room was more than just one or two cigarettes.
“What’s wrong?” Jennifer’s voice was hoarse.
“Captain Felton and Mr. Green are here. They said they need your help.” Maggie paused, searching for Jennifer’s face in the darkness, wanting to see her expression.
“It’s about the Hall family.”
After a minute or two, there was some movement near the computer.
It seemed Jennifer changed position and tapped the keyboard twice.
The office curtains slowly opened.
Outside, the sky was still covered with thick clouds.
Even with the curtains open, no light shone through.
Only Jennifer’s haggard face could be seen.
“What happened?” Maggie felt something was off just by looking at Jennifer.
She hadn’t been like this that morning–only a few hours ago.
Jennifer held a cigarette between her fingers, casually stubbed it out in the ashtray, and said toward the door, “Come in.”
Several people entered.
Ashley had seen Jennifer before but had difficulty imagining such a girl was a top hacker.
Jennifer yawned.

“I’ve been competing lately. The opponents are tough. It’s nothing. What is it that you want me to help.
with?”
When it came to serious matters, Maggie left, leaving the space to them.
Ashley sat quietly on the sofa, listening but not speaking.
It was only through Roy’s explanation of Jennifer’s role that Chris understood what had happened.
