Chapter 1207
Aurora was overjoyed by Lucas’s sweet words. “Have you finally figured it out lately?”
“What do you mean by that?” Lucas looked puzzled.
“Look at you, your sweet talk has been nonstop these days.”
Aurora stopped and gave him a playful look. “Don’t tell me you’ve got another woman out there. Is that why your lines have improved so much?”
“What?!” Lucas stared at her in disbelief, as if he couldn’t believe such words had come out of her mouth.
“We’re practically glued together all the time. Aside from work, where would I even find the chance to see another woman?” he protested, his face carrying a trace of grievance.
At nearly six–foot–three, he still managed to look like a wronged little husband.
Aurora feigned annoyance. “How should I know? I’m not with you during work hours. What if there are plenty of women around you then? I wouldn’t know anything about it.”
“Then what do you want me to do? Maybe I should quit and come to the studio to stay with you instead.”
Lucas‘ eyes sparkled as he looked at her.
Hearing that, Aurora quickly stepped back, waving her hands frantically. “No, no, that’s not necessary–I
was only joking.”
She knew if she agreed, Lucas would show up at her studio without hesitation, eager to stick by her side.
Seeing how happy he looked, he seemed almost desperate to work alongside her.
But Aurora didn’t want him to give up his career for her sake.
If one partner always had to compromise for the other, then the relationship would never last.
Even if they stayed together, the imbalance would one day erupt.
“I don’t want you to make sacrifices for me,” Aurora said, her smile fading into seriousness.
“Being together should mean helping each other become better–not changing who you are just because
of me.”
Lucas caught the light in her eyes and knew she meant it.
“Alright, I understand. I was just joking.”
He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. “I only want to be close to you all the time, to give you peace mind. That’s the only reason I said it.”

“Good. You’d better keep it that way.” Aurora shot him a mock glare.

Lucas quickly promised, “Of course I’m focused on my career. I still need to earn money to support you.
“Otherwise, who’s going to make money for you to spend? I don’t ever want people saying I’m living off my wife.”
“Alright, go finish making breakfast. I still need to head to the studio later.”
Only then did Lucas return to the kitchen.
Aurora watched his back, her thoughts turning inward.
If that was the case, then he definitely wasn’t hiding another woman from her. So, what was it he was keeping from her?
She knew exactly how Lucas treated her, and she’d seen it clearly with her own eyes.
Which was why she immediately ruled out the possibility of infidelity.
Taking a deep breath, Aurora decided not to dwell on it for now.
What mattered most was the studio. Once everything there was settled, she could think about her personal relationship later.
After breakfast, Aurora went to the townhouse to check on the progress of the setup.
When she arrived, Ian was already waiting for her.
