“Your wolt, Emily confirmed, looking at Rebecca with new respect. “She’s growing stronger. And she’s a fighter.”
I couldn’t help the surge of pride and love that welled up in me. My mate, my Luna, was becoming everything I could have hoped for and
more.
We walked back to our suite together, Rebecca’s body humming with the residual energy of her training session. I could feel her exhilaration through our bond, mixed with a healthy dose of exhaustion.
“When you were surrounded,” I said as we turned down the corridor to our wing of the house, “I nearly broke through the door. Emily had to lock it.”
Rebecca laughed, linking her fingers with mine. “I need to learn to protect myself,” she reminded me. “For Lucas. For you.”
I squeezed her hand, running my thumb over her knuckles. “Now we go home, and I’ve arranged a hot bath and massage for you.”
She glanced up at me, a playful spark in her eyes. “Just a massage?”
I felt my eyes flash gold as desire coursed through me. “Dr. Winters said you’ve fully recovered,” I reminded her, my voice dropping to a lower register. “So no, not just a massage.”
Rebecca’s pulse quickened, and I caught the sweet scent of her arousal. It had been weeks since we’d been intimate, first because of the final stages of her pregnancy, then because of her recovery after birth. The anticipation between us crackled like electricity.
As soon as our bedroom door closed behind us, I pulled her into my arms, my mouth finding hers in a hungry kiss. She responded eagerly, her hands sliding up to tangle in my hair, her body pressing against mine. I lifted her easily, carrying her to our bed as her legs wrapped around my waist.
“I’ve missed this,” she whispered against my lips. “Missed you.”
“I’ve been right here,” I reminded her, trailing kisses down her neck to the mark that proclaimed her as mine.
“You know what I mean,” she gasped as I gently bit down on the sensitive spot.
I knew what she meant. Despite our closeness over these weeks, recovery had built an invisible wall between us. Now, the way she trembled at my touch, the golden flecks flickering in her eyes, and the shaky breath escaping her parted lips sent my blood racing.
“Tell me what you want, Luna,” I whispered against the shell of her ear, feeling her shiver at my words.
“You,” she breathed, fingers digging into my shoulders, nails lightly pressing into skin. “Just you.”
We rediscovered each other like explorers. My palms slowly traced the new curves of her body, fingertips lingering on her fuller breasts, feeling her quiver and breathe faster with each touch. She arched into my caress, lips parting, the green of her eyes swallowed by dilating pupils.
“Here…” I kissed the mark on her neck, feeling her entire body shudder. “More sensitive than before.”

Chapter 228
“Dominic, she murmured, her voice husky and urgent, hands roaming across my back, leaving trails of fire. ‘Don’t make me wait.
When we finally joined, her nails dug into my back, her head falling backward, exposing the elegant line of her throat. Our gazes locked, the golden glow in her eyes mirroring my own, our mate bond pulsing hot between us, amplifying pleasure to an almost unbearable
intensity.
Afterward, Rebecca nestled against my chest, fingers drawing lazy circles on my skin, her moist lips curved slightly upward. I captured her hand, kissing her fingertips, marveling at how this gesture that once only signed business contracts now carried such tenderness.
“What are you thinking?” She looked up at me, her lashes casting long shadows on her cheeks.
I caressed her face, my thumb gently tracing her cheekbone. “I’m thinking about how you transformed a cold Alpha who only cared about power and control into a man who can’t breathe without you.”
She smiled, lazily tangling her leg with mine, toes playfully brushing against my calf. “Seems my magic is more powerful than expected.”
“You have no idea how powerful you are,” I whispered, feeling how her transformation had catalyzed my own.
