Chapter 1226
Tessa’s fists tightened.
She was Walton’s eldest heiress, yet here she was, forced to lower herself like this.
And all of it was Aurora’s fault.
If Aurora had properly wrapped up the handover, she wouldn’t have to swallow her pride and haggle with
this lecher now.
“Mr. Lewis, here is the contract proposal I drafted for you.” Tessa handed him the folder.
“There’s no need for me to look at that right now.”
Daniel raised a hand, uninterested in even glancing at the papers.
Tessa frowned. “But if you don’t review the contract, how will you know Walton Corporation’s sincerity?”
“Previously, Aurora was the one negotiating with me. I assume the terms are more or less the same, so whether I read it or not makes no difference.”
He clearly didn’t care–after all, he had no genuine intention of partnering with Walton Corporation
anymore.
With Aurora gone, there wasn’t much point.
For him, this meeting with Tessa was little more than a way to pass the time.
He wanted to see if the company still had anything worth tempting him now that Aurora was out of the picture.
But Tessa leaned forward, her tone deliberately mysterious. “If you’re thinking of the previous agreement, I’d suggest you take a look at this one.”
That piqued his interest. “Oh? What’s different about it?”
“Of course it’s different because this one was drafted by me.”
Her voice carried a note of pride.
Tessa wasn’t unattractive–cute and charming in her own right.
But standing next to Aurora, her beauty had always been overshadowed.
Where Aurora’s refinement outshone everything, Tessa’s looks never stood out.
So long as Aurora was present, no one ever bothered to notice her.

Now, without the constant comparison, Tessa’s own strengths finally showed. Her smile alone was enough to unsettle Daniel.
Almost against his better judgment, he picked up the contract and gave it a serious look.
When his eyes fell on the terms, a rare clarity returned to his expression.
“Are you telling me these terms are real?” he asked in disbelief.
Tessa nodded firmly. “Every part of the proposal is serious. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have placed it in front of
you.”
“But with this deal, how would Walton Corporation make any profit?”
From a practical standpoint, Daniel couldn’t understand her motive.
The contract offered an additional five percent concession–if he signed, it would guarantee him massive returns, far more than before.
For him, it was a no–risk, high–reward agreement.
But for Walton Corporation, the profits would be cut so thin there was hardly anything left.
Yet Tessa didn’t care.
All that mattered was securing this contract.
If she pulled it off, her mother would have no choice but to acknowledge her.
Even the senior executives would start treating her differently.
Beyond that, she wanted nothing else.
“Mr. Lewis, you don’t need to worry about that,” Tessa said with a smile. “What I want is for us to work together. All I ask is that you give me a chance. I truly want this partnership with you.”
