Chapter 249
Rebecca’s POV

Steam filled the spacious bathroom, fogging the glass shower doors and creating a dreamy haze in the dimly lit space. I stood under the hot spray, letting the water sluice over my body, washing away the grime and tension of the past twenty-four hours. My muscles ached from the strain of combat and stress, but there was also a strange new energy flowing through me, a residual effect of whatever healing power had manifested earlier.
The shower door slid open behind me, and I turned to find Dominic standing there, completely naked, his powerful body silhouetted against the bathroom lights. His eyes traveled over me with unhurried appreciation.
“Let me help you,” he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down my spine despite the hot water.
He stepped into the shower, closing the door behind him. I couldn’t help but notice how freely he now moved his right arm, the skin completely healed where the silver dagger had pierced it just hours before.
Dominic reached for the bottle of body wash, squeezing a generous amount into his palm. He moved behind me, his chest pressing against my back as his hands began to glide over my shoulders.
“Your healing wasn’t just physical,” he murmured against my ear, his fingers working the tense muscles at the base of my neck. “You’ve given my soul redemption too.”
His hands moved lower, strong and sure, spreading lather across my back, then around to my stomach. Every touch felt amplified, as if our enhanced connection had heightened all sensations between us.
“I can feel the change in our bond,” he continued, his lips brushing against my wet hair. “It’s stronger, more vibrant.”
I turned to face him, water droplets clinging to my lashes. “I feel it too. Like there’s a golden thread connecting us.”
Dominic’s hands came up to frame my face, his fully healed right hand cupping my cheek with renewed strength. “Now I can properly thank you with both hands,” he said, a wolfish smile spreading across his face.
He backed me against the cool tile wall, his mouth claiming mine in a kiss that stole my breath. His hands seemed to be everywhere at once, leaving trails of fire on my wet skin. I arched into him, craving the solid warmth of his body against mine.
“Let me show you my gratitude,” he whispered, lifting me effortlessly.
Dominic carried me from the shower to the bedroom, water droplets trailing behind us as he laid me gently on the bed. His powerful arms supported my weight with ease.
“I’m going to spend all night thanking you for your healing,” he promised, his voice deep and husky with desire.
I reached up to touch the jagged scar on his chest, an old wound from some battle long before we met. Through our enhanced bond, I could feel every emotion flowing through him with startling clarity.
“I can feel everything in our bond,” I whispered, overwhelmed by the intensity. “Your gratitude, your desire, and…”

Chapter 249
Dominic leaned down, his lips brushing against mine as he finished my sentence. And my love for you, which cannot be hidden.”

His thumb traced slow, maddening circles against my bare skin, each movement precise and intentional. When his lips brushed my throat, I felt his smile against my pulse point.
“Let’s see what this enhanced connection can do,” he murmured, his voice dropping to a register so low it seemed to vibrate through my bones. His breath was hot against my sensitive skin, each word punctuated by the slight graze of his teeth. ‘I want to feel everything you feel.”
Our bodies moved together in perfect synchronicity, his muscles flexing beneath my fingertips as I dug my nails into his shoulders. The mate bond between us hummed like a live wire, golden threads of energy visibly dancing across our skin where we touched. I gasped as he shifted his weight, his eyes flashing electric blue for a heartbeat before darkening with unmistakable hunger.
‘Do you feel that?” I whispered, arching my back as waves of pleasure radiated from every point of contact between us. Golden sparks erupted beneath my skin, leaving trails of heat in their wake.
Dominic’s expression transformed from concentration to awe, his pupils dilating until only a thin ring of blue remained. His movements faltered momentarily as the full impact of our shared sensation hit him. “Gods,” he growled, his voice rough with barely controlled desire. ‘I can feel you-feel everything.” His hands tightened their grip, leaving imprints that I knew would linger.
He lowered his head, teeth scraping along my collarbone, each caress perfectly calibrated to match the echoes of pleasure he was receiving through our bond. “Here?” he murmured against my skin, adjusting his movements with devastating precision. “Or here?” His lips curved into a predatory smile as he felt my response ripple through our connection.
The golden energy between us intensified, no longer just sparks but sheets of luminescence that cast otherworldly shadows across his face. His features looked carved from marble in that light, all sharp angles and dangerous beauty. Sweat glistened on his brow as he fought to maintain control, a muscle jumping in his jaw with the effort.
As we approached the precipice together, the golden light pulsed in perfect harmony with our racing hearts, growing brighter with each shared breath. Dominic’s eyes locked with mine, allowing me to see the exact moment when his control shattered. With a primal sound that was half growl, half my name, he struck, his teeth finding my mate mark with unerring accuracy.
The sharp pleasure-pain of his bite sent me spiraling over the edge, my body arching against his. Through our bond, I felt his release mirror my own, the intensity doubled and reflected back like an infinite echo chamber of sensation. His body shuddered against mine, his fingers leaving crescent-shaped marks on my skin as he held me through the aftershocks.
When we finally collapsed together, our limbs intertwined and skin slick with exertion, Dominic’s fingertips traced reverent patterns across my shoulder. His expression was one of stunned wonder, as if he’d witnessed something sacred and terrible all at once.
“Your healing ability might be the rarest gift I’ve ever encountered,” he said thoughtfully, his fingers continuing their gentle exploration of my skin.
I nestled closer to him, my head resting on his chest where I could hear the steady beat of his heart. “It seems to only work for you… through our bond.”
His arm tightened around me, pulling me closer. “It had better only work for me, my Luna,” he said, only half joking as he pressed a kiss to my forehead.
