Chapter 250.
Rebecca’s POV
Morning sunlight streamed through the windows as I finished packing our overnight bag. A soft ping from my phone caught my attention, and 1 checked the message.
It’s from Dr. Winters, I said, scanning the text. “Raymond is awake.”
Dominic, who was making a call in the corner of the room, ended his conversation and turned to me. “Good. I was worried about him.” He flexed his right hand, still marveling at the complete healing. “I’ve asked Marcus to arrange for Diana to bring Lucas back to the mansion, along with Sofia. We’ll meet them there.”
I set the phone down and looked at Dominic’s now-healed arm. There wasn’t even a scar to mark where the silver had penetrated his skin. “We need to figure out what to do about the Collins territory now.”
“The Council will have to approve whatever arrangement we make,” Dominic said, his voice taking on the thoughtful tone he used when strategizing. “But we’ll need to establish interim leadership until then.”
I shifted to face him more directly. “I think Emily would be perfect for that role. She’s smart, level-headed, and doesn’t have blind loyalty to the old leadership.”
Dominic’s eyebrows rose in surprise. “You seem to know quite a bit about our pack warriors.”
I smiled, tracing the line of his jaw with my finger. “While you were busy being Alpha, I was learning how to be a proper Luna.”
The sleek black car glided smoothly through the morning sunlight, carrying us back toward Sterling territory. Dr. Winters’ text about Raymond had prompted our return, though I was eager to see Lucas again as well.
I sat with my back against the passenger door, watching Dominic as he drove. His right hand rested casually on the steering wheel, occasionally reaching over to stroke my knee.
“We’ll need to make sure the transition in Collins territory goes smoothly,” I said, continuing our earlier conversation. “The less disruption for the pack members, the better.”
Dominic nodded, his eyes never leaving the road. “Emily is a good suggestion. She’s proven herself loyal, and she’ll be firm but fair.”
I felt a small surge of pride that he’d taken my recommendation seriously. Six months ago, I would never have imagined offering strategic advice to an Alpha, let alone having that advice valued.
“What about the humans living in Collins territory? There must be mates and children who aren’t wolves,” I pointed out.
“We’ll need to reassure them first,” Dominic said. “Fear breeds instability. I’ll have Marcus prepare a statement for the human families.”
I turned to look out at the passing scenery, at the green landscapes bathed in morning light. “It’s strange to think that just yesterday, the Collins were threatening our family, and now we’re responsible for theirs.”
Dominic’s hand squeezed my knee gently. “That’s the burden of leadership, Luna. Sometimes our greatest enemies become our greatest responsibilities.”

The gates of Sterling Mansion swung open as our car approached, security recognizing Dominic’s vehicle immediately. As we pulled up to the main entrance, I saw Matianne waiting on the steps, her elegant figure straight-backed and composed as always.
Dominic parked the car, and before he could come around to my side, I had already stepped out, eager to see Lucas after our brief separation.
Marianne’s eyes widened slightly as we approached, her gaze moving from my neck-where Dominic’s mark was prominently displayed above the collar of my blouse-to Dominic’s completely healed arm.
“Mother, Dominic greeted her, his tone respectful but warm.
“The Council has been calling non-stop,” she said, her voice low and urgent. “They want a full report on what happened with the Collins.”
“And they’ll get one, Dominic assured her. “After I’ve seen to my son and checked on Raymond.”
Marianne’s gaze lingered on Dominic’s arm. “Your wound…”
Dominic glanced at me, a hint of pride in his eyes. “Rebecca has talents we didn’t know about.”
He flexed his arm demonstratively, rotating his wrist to show the complete range of motion. “She healed it completely.”
Marianne’s eyes widened, genuine surprise breaking through her usual composed facade. “Healing silver poisoning? That’s… extremely
rare.”
I shifted uncomfortably under her scrutiny. “It’s just something that happened through our mate bond. I felt his pain and wanted to take it away.”
Dominic placed his hand at the small of my back, gently guiding me toward the entrance. “We have some matters to attend to, Mother. Has Diana arrived with Lucas?”
Marianne nodded, falling into step beside us. “Yes, they arrived about an hour ago. But there’s something else you should know. The wolves you captured… one of them has been particularly vocal. He’s been demanding to speak with you, claiming he’ll have revenge for the Collins.”
Dominic and I exchanged a glance, and I could feel his thoughts through our bond without him having to voice them. After everything we’d been through, we weren’t about to let any remaining threat linger.
“Where are they being held?” Dominic asked, his voice taking on the hard edge of his Alpha authority.
“The containment area in the east wing,” Marianne replied. “Johnson is guarding them.”
“Good,” Dominic said, his jaw set in determination. “Let’s see what this wolf has to say.”
The containment area was clinically stark, all concrete floors and reinforced walls designed to hold even the strongest werewolves. A burly Delta with a military-short haircut stood at attention as we approached.
“Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling,” he greeted us with a respectful nod. “The prisoner in cell three has been causing problems. Claims he has information about other Collins supporters, but he’s been threatening staff and saying he’ll have revenge for his Alpha’s death.”

“Bring him to the central space, Dominic commanded, his voice carrying the undeniable weight of Alpha authority. “I want room to move If necessary.”
The Delta hesitated. “Sir, he’s been increasingly aggressive. Should we keep the silver restraints on?”
Dominic’s eyes met mine, and I felt a question through our bond. I gave him a slight nod.
“No,” Dominic said. “Remove them. Let’s see what he does with his supposed freedom.”
