Chapter 1240

Even if she wanted to hide, no one would give her the chance.

Megan pouted. “I told Madam Grace at first that if she had something to say, she could talk to me, but she

refused.”

Aurora said, “I understand. Go get some rest.

“No!” Megan suddenly raised her voice.

Aurora and Ian both looked at her in confusion.

But Megan grew anxious, waving her hands as she spoke.

“When Madam Grace came, she brought Tessa with her. I’m worried they are here to bully you. No, if I don’t go

with you, I won’t be at ease.”

With that, Megan rushed to Aurora’s side, clutching her hand tightly and refusing to let go.

Aurora glanced at Megan and said nothing, though inside she felt a wave of emotion.

Sure enough, in moments like this, the ones who stayed by her side were the ones who truly cared.

“Alright, let’s go together then.”

Aurora looked down at Megan holding her hand, her heart warming.

Megan felt happy too.

But when she thought of the look in Grace’s eyes, she grew uneasy again.

“Aurora, I can’t shake the feeling that Madam Grace has changed, that she’s not the same as before.”

Megan’s expression was uncertain, as if she didn’t even want to face Grace again.

After all, the way Grace had just scolded her was still vivid in her mind. If she saw her again, she wasn’t sure

what might happen.

Before this, Grace had always treated her kindly. This was the first time she had seen that side of Grace.

Seeing Megan like this, Aurora also felt a sliver of doubt. Had Grace really changed?

Was it because she had left Walton Corporation that her mother became this way?

Aurora pressed her lips together, not knowing what to say.

But in the end, she patted Megan’s shoulder to comfort her. “It’s fine. With me here, my mom isn’t going to eat you alive.”

Aurora deliberately cracked a joke to lighten the mood, hoping to ease Megan’s fear.

Hearing Aurora say that, Megan couldn’t argue further and simply followed her along.

When Aurora arrived, she saw Grace and Tessa already sitting on the stone bench in the courtyard.

Both of their faces carried an air of indifference, as if they had taken the place as their own home.

Aurora’s expression instantly turned cold.

She had never thought of cutting off her mother entirely, but this place was her own hard work, not somewhere

Grace and Tessa could come and act recklessly.

“Mom, what are you doing here?”

Aurora walked forward with Megan by her side, her face far from pleasant.

Hearing her voice, Grace turned her head and looked Aurora up and down, then glanced at Megan beside her.

Seeing her like this, for a moment Grace even found her a little unfamiliar.

She didn’t answer Aurora’s question directly but pointed at the surroundings. “This is your studio, isn’t it?”

“Yes, it’s my studio. It’ll be opening soon.”

Aurora answered honestly.

She didn’t understand what Grace was trying to do, but out of respect, she still answered seriously.

Blood ties were still there and escaping them wasn’t so simple.

“So it’s opening so soon. Does that mean you’ve been preparing for this all along?” Grace’s sharp gaze bore

into Aurora.

Hearing this, Aurora was momentarily at a loss for words, but she understood very clearly-Grace hadn’t come

here with good intentions.
