Chapter 1241
Especially with Tessa at her side–wasn’t this clearly a visit to hold her accountable?
Aurora let out a cold laugh. “Of course I didn’t prepare beforehand. I was working diligently in Walton
Corporation all this time, as you should know very well, Mom.
“But if you insist on slandering me, then I have nothing more to say. After all, you hold all the power.
I say doesn’t matter.”
Whatever
“So now you think you’re too big to be told what to do?” Grace slammed her hand on the table, her face
darkening.
Seeing this side of Grace left Megan even more shocked.
She tugged gently at Aurora’s sleeve and whispered, “See? I told you, Madam Grace isn’t the same as before.”
Aurora had noticed it too.
Grace had become far more irritable, and it was clear she came today just to condemn her.
She wasn’t a fool–she could see perfectly well how others treated her.
“Then tell me, Mom, why have you come here today?” Aurora asked.
Grace glanced around before giving a cold snort. “The courtyard is already settled, and now you’re even renovating. So, was this the reason you wanted to leave Walton Corporation?”
Tessa quickly chimed in. “Exactly. You were doing so well at Walton Corporation before. I really don’t know
what pushed you to this.”
Tessa spoke with feigned concern. “Sister, we’re family after all. No matter what, blood ties are the closest bond. Don’t let someone with ulterior motives stir things up between us.”
Her words were carefully chosen, but the latter half was aimed directly at Megan.
Even Megan, as naïve as she might sometimes be, caught on immediately.
She straightened her back and snapped back, “Hey, what do you mean by that? Say it clearly. Who exactly are you trying to throw shade at?”
“Mom, I didn’t mean it like that,” Tessa said, covering her face as if wronged.

“I really thought this through. Besides, my sister used to be so obedient, so well–behaved. I don’t know what
she’s been learning lately.”
Those words carried pointed implication, and Aurora’s eyes flashed coldly.
But Grace felt Tessa was right. Aurora had indeed been obedient in the past.
After losing that bet in Westbridge, Aurora had obediently returned to the company to help, even securing many
projects.
But now, because of Megan’s influence, she had become like this–talking back to her and even wanting to
strike out on her own.
Each incident, one after another, left her utterly disheartened.
Grace also realized that this daughter was no longer the same as before.
She cast Megan a cold glance.
“It’s fine. What you said makes sense. If someone with ulterior motives really did these things, why should they
be afraid of being called out? Would they dare to do it but not admit it?”
Though her eyes were on Megan, the words were clearly meant for Tessa.
Megan felt wronged.
Looking at Grace’s indifferent face, she couldn’t understand why Grace had become like this.
When she was younger and went to their house, Grace had always welcomed her warmly.
But now, she seemed like a stranger. Was she really the same Grace she remembered?
These words made Aurora’s expression turn even colder.
Her voice carried no trace of emotion. “So, the two of you came here just to say these things to me?”
