Chapter 290
‘Some uncle…‘ Chris was both amused and helpless.
But then he thought about how Natalie had lost her parents years ago, and Felix had been both father and mother to her.
It wasn’t easy for a single and unmarried man to raise a niece.
He had heard that Felix chose not to marry anyone for Natalie’s sake.
The two depended on each other.
From the few brief meetings with Felix, Chris had come to understand his intentions – he really wanted to get revenge for his sister.
But Chris hadn’t said much.
After changing out of his surgical gown and leaving the operating room, Francesca was already waiting at the door, her expression was a little awkward.
“I know Natalie’s here,” said Chris.
“Felix just called me, said he plans to send Natalie abroad to study. She was upset and came here to ask why she couldn’t intern here. I’ll explain it to her. Which lounge is she in?”
Francesca led Chris there.
“All the injured patients near Montvue Tower were discharged a few days ago. After the recent report, Hurricane Media received unanimous praise online. The preparations before being listed are sufficient.”
Chris nodded.
“I’m going to my mother–in–law’s today. You should prepare some gifts. Oh, by the way, she said the fruit we bought last time was very sweet. Get another box for her.”
“Okay.”
After Jessica came back, she didn’t go to the old residence. She just made a quick call to report she was safe.
Today, Linda suddenly asked them to come home for dinner. Chris thought it was because she was worried about Jessica.
The mother and daughter were not the type to show care with words, they needed to see each other in person to feel assured.
There was only Natalie in the lounge.
After waiting for two hours, Natalie was a bit irritated but still scrolling through her phone.
Chris pushed open the door, and Natalie’s eyes lit up immediately.

arms around Chris’s.
Her gesture was a little flirtatious, so Chris stepped back to stop her.
Natalie pouted. “I waited for you for two hours, and this is how you treat me?”
The small lounge had just two sets of sofas.
On the coffee table were tea and some snacks, but Natalie didn’t touch them, her eyes fixed on Chris the whole
time.
“I heard your brother said he’s sending you abroad for an intern. I think it’s a good opportunity. Why do you not want to go?”
“I’m not going.” Upon hearing this, Natalie snorted, rolled her eyes, and turned to leave.
“My uncle just wants to send me away because my grades are bad. He wants me to intern at some low–level affiliated hospital.”
With that said, Natalie got even more angry.
“Chris, why won’t you let me intern at the Summit Infirmary? Your hospital ranks much higher than the Fourth Infirmary. Besides, I want to intern with you.”
Putting aside the hospital’s ranking, just looking at intern grades alone, Natalie wasn’t even close to the Summit Infirmary’s standards.
Before, out of respect for Felix, Chris decided not to be too harsh.
But since Felix had already given a heads up, Chris no longer felt the need to hold back.
“Because your grades are poor.”
Natalie was stunned.
Chris sat on another single sofa, his tone indifferent and without mercy.
“The Summit Infirmary’s minimum standard for interns is a top seventy overall grade. Jake, who went with me on the disaster relief, wasn’t the best ever, but last year he ranked second in medical school. The student ranked first was admitted directly to graduate school in Lonat.”
A very simple and straightforward reason.
Perhaps because she hadn’t expected Chris to say her grades were bad so bluntly, Natalie was embarrassed but then became infuriated.
“So what if my grades are bad? My family runs a hospital. My internship is just a formality. I just want to learn from you.”
