After returning to the hotel, the three Rosses sat in the living room for a long time in silence. In her mother’s embrace, Shelly’s mood slowly calmed down. She knew her parents were worried, so to reassure them, she ordered dinner and proactively comforted them with a smile. “Dad, Mom, it’s all over now, and I’ve actually moved on. Please don’t look so sad, okay?”
Seeing her being so mature, her parents patted her hand, their eyes filled with love.“Shelly, since you’ve moved on, Mom doesn’t want to ask too many questions so as not to remind you of painful memories. But you have to tell me one truth: what other problems did you face when you were with Julian?”
Having the Moon Goddess’s choice rejected must have been incredibly painful. But Shelly paused, thinking back on everything that had happened over the years and what had happened before she left the Stormfall Pack. She didn’t know where to start. The times she felt the most wronged were from the helplessness and confusion of realizing Julian had been toying with her feelings. And feelings are, by nature, hard to explain, and there’s no right or wrong to them.
She thought for a long time and finally realized there was one thing that did need to be addressed. So she told them what happened at the bar the day
before she left.
After hearing the story, Mr. Ross angrily slapped the table, and Mrs. Ross looked horrified. They couldn’t stand it and immediately booked tickets to gc back home.“Inciting attempted rape is against the law! Shelly, don’t worry. Your mom and dad won’t let those who tried to harm you get away with it.”
After a night’s rest, the first thing the Rosses did when they got back to the Stormfall Pack was to get the surveillance footage from the bar and go straight to the committee to file a case. With solid evidence, the committee members brought everyone involved in for questioning and investigation that very day.
Grace didn’t know what was happening at first, but when she saw Shelly in the meeting room, her face went pale. Before the formal questioning even began, she, feeling guilty, rushed forward to Shelly, trying to get to her first.“Didn’t you move away? Why are you back?”
“Of course, I’m back to settle things. You wouldn’t be confused about what you did, would you?”
A hint of panic flashed across Grace’s face, but she desperately tried to talk her way out of it.“I’m just an Omega. I haven’t done anything. Why are you lying about me?”
Shelly couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.“Whether it’s a lie or not, the surveillance video is proof. It’s not for you to decide.”
Soon, Grace remembered everything that had happened that night from the clear surveillance video. After hearing from the committee member that she was going to be charged, she completely panicked. She changed her arrogant attitude and started to apologize.“I’m sorry. That night, my jealousy got the best of me, and I did something wrong. Nothing really happened to you, so can we please not go through with this?”
Hearing these words, Shelly couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh. At the time, she was so heartbroken that she just wanted to leave the Stormfall Pack and hadn’t had a chance to deal with this yet. What do you mean, nothing happened? If she hadn’t found that ashtray, it’s uncertain whether she would
have left the bar alive that night!
For such a terrible act, Grace showed no real regret and still wanted to just let it go. Shelly would absolutely not let that happen.“Save those words for the courtroom. I’m going to see this through to the very end.”
With that one sentence, Grace’s hope was gone. The thought of possibly being sentenced, going to jail, and her bright future being completely destroyed made her lose her mind, and she turned to Mr. Ross for help.“Mr. Ross, please, for old times‘ sake, let me off this time. You know how hard I’ve worked to get where I am. You’re a kind person; please give me another chance, okay? I beg you!”
Seeing his former star student crying and pleading, Mr. Ross was completely unmoved. He only said one thing to her. “You’ve disappointed me too
much!”
