Chapter 1255
Aurora couldn’t help it–she burst out laughing at the scene.
When Megan faced Lucas, her mouth always ran ahead of her brain, saying whatever came to mind. Aurora actually found it rather amusing.
Megan slipped to Aurora’s side, ignoring Lucas‘ sharp look. In her eyes, his gaze was frightening enough already -he was always threatening to dock her allowance.
Before long, reporters began crowding at the entrance, along with curious neighbors drawn by the noise.
Aurora welcomed them all warmly.
Most were only there out of curiosity, just to join in the excitement, but she didn’t mind. So long as it brought exposure to her studio, it was enough.
The neighbors, however, were especially intrigued.
Who could have possibly bought out the entire street with flower stands? Such extravagance was something they had never seen before.
Aurora also noticed a few unfamiliar faces among the invited media.
But she didn’t pay much attention–there were always companies that picked up news online and showed up uninvited.
With so many outlets, it was impossible to filter each one.
Soon, some crews had their cameras set up, ready to live stream.
But as the time drew near, Aurora still hadn’t made a move.
She kept gazing into the distance, clearly waiting for someone.
Lucas‘ eyes darkened as a thought crossed his mind.
With only minutes left before the ceremony, Megan couldn’t hold back and leaned close. “Aurora, it’s almost time. Shouldn’t we start getting ready?”
“Ah, let’s wait a little longer.” Aurora’s eyes never left the far end of the street.
Seeing this, Megan spoke bluntly. “Aurora, are you waiting for Madam Grace?”
Aurora froze, not expecting Megan to see through her so quickly.
But she forced herself to sound indifferent. “It’s nothing, I’m just waiting around.”
Her eyes lowered, though in her heart she knew she was hoping.

shouldn’t be any different.
That thought was why she kept waiting–to see if her mother would come. She wanted to give her mother a chance and give herself a chance to hold onto that hope.
Megan patted Aurora’s shoulder, putting on a solemn air. “Come on, life is full of chance encounters. You’ve got to get used to it.”
Aurora understood what she meant. She was an adult; she knew these truths.
But when you lived through them yourself, it was an entirely different feeling.
Especially when her own mother treated her so differently compared to Tessa–each incident piling on until the pain left her struggling to breathe.
Aurora had thought she was past caring. But now she realized she simply hadn’t faced it head–on before.
When it finally unfolded in front of her, it was another matter entirely.
She also remembered how she’d told her mother she wasn’t welcome here.
And now here she was, secretly hoping she would come. It was far too contradictory and sentimental.
Aurora confessed these conflicted thoughts to Megan.
But Megan stood firmly on her side, without a hint of hesitation.
