Chapter 1264
“Alright then, since you’re so capable, I’ll make sure you’re rewarded tonight.”
The secretary’s cheeks flushed pink. “Oh, you’re awful, Mr. Lewis-”
Her soft, lilting tone made Daniel’s whole body tense, and his pace quickened noticeably.
Once he was gone, Aurora and the others exchanged looks.
She rubbed her nose lightly. “Since Mr. Lewis isn’t interested, let’s just go for a meal ourselves. As for the reporters, let them do their own thing. If we joined, they’d probably just feel uncomfortable.”
Megan nodded eagerly, showering her with praise. “See, you really do think of everything.”
“Enough of that–don’t turn into my little fan.” Aurora reached over and pinched Megan’s chubby cheek, finding her unbearably cute.
Just as they were about to head to the restaurant, Leonard appeared in the distance.
He was dressed in a white suit, holding a bouquet, looking as though he’d stepped straight out of a fairy tale— every inch the picture of a graceful prince.
A faint smile lingered on his lips, and his gaze on Aurora was soft.
At the sight, the group came to a halt.
Lucas‘ eyes immediately sharpened with caution.
Why was Leonard here now? He’d already made arrangements to keep him away–had Leonard really broken through so easily?
Aurora, too, was puzzled. “Leonard, how come you’re here at this hour?”
Two hours earlier.
From the moment he woke, Leonard had been planning to bring flowers to congratulate Aurora on her opening.
But on his way over, a car swerved aggressively and forced him to the side of the road.
The fault was clearly the other driver’s.
Two burly men climbed out, though surprisingly, their demeanor was polite.
“Sir, are you alright?” one of them asked earnestly–yet his hands hovered as if he meant to search Leonard up and down.
Seeing this, Leonard felt a wave of unease.
“Oh, I’m really fine, you don’t need to worry.‘
“}
After all, it was just the airbag that had deployed, and the exterior was a little dented.

Other than that, nothing was seriously wrong.
He wasn’t short on money, so there was no point in wasting time arguing here.
But the man didn’t believe him.
With a firm tone, he said, “No, we’ll take you to the hospital.”
“There’s really no need, I’m in a hurry,” Leonard replied gently.
He lifted his wrist to glance at his watch. It was already past eight, and Aurora’s studio opening was at 10:30. He still had two hours.
If he left now, he could make it in time, but if he got stuck here any longer, it would be impossible.
The other man stepped forward and grabbed Leonard, trying to push him into the car. “No need to be polite with us. We’ll take full responsibility.”
The bystanders who witnessed this were moved.
They hadn’t expected such responsibility–there weren’t many like that these days.
They urged Leonard, “Young man, don’t refuse. These two are only worried about you. “That’s right, such kindness is rare. We should all be encouraging this kind of spirit.” “Better to go with them for a check–up. Otherwise, I don’t think they’ll rest easy.”
