Third Person POV
When this message was sent, Ethan was drying his hair. He heard his communication stone make a sound and was about to pick it up when Isabelle snatched it first.
“Let me check it for you,” she said, shaking the stone and smiling sweetly.
Ethan couldn’t do anything about her, so he smiled and said OKAY.
His communication stone had been set up with Isabelle’s scent signature early on.
Isabelle skillfully turned it on and saw the message.
A flicker of disdain flashed in her eyes. She moved her finger and deleted the message.
The first day she came back, she learned about the things between Ethan and Zoe. In her opinion, this was nothing more than Zoe’s unrequited love.
Everyone knew Ethan was a romantic at heart, loving her to his very bones. How could he possibly fall for someone else?
After she finished deleting that message, she also saw many work emails from collaborators. She deleted them all.
At this moment, Ethan also finished drying his hair. The man, his skin still warm and damp from the shower, leaned over and embraced her body.
“What message?”
Isabelle turned to hug him back, her communication stone casually placed aside.
“Just a spam text. Don’t worry about those, shall we continue?”
She smiled, occasionally revealing glimpses of skin beneath her pajamas, which made Ethan’s eyes burn with desire.
His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he nodded, saying “Okay,” no longer bothering with his stone, and took Isabelle to bed. They spent the night tangled in each other’s arms.
Ethan was still sleeping when his communication stone suddenly rang.
He initially didn’t want to bother with it, but the ringing wouldn’t stop, annoying him beyond measure. He was sure he didn’t have work today.
Looking at the woman still sleeping in his arms, Ethan picked up his stone, lowered his voice, but his face was full of impatience. “What is it? It’s the weekend today, there shouldn’t be
work any
arrangements.”
On the other end was his other secretary, answering in a flustered tone.
“Yesterday, our collaborator sent a message, they were supposed to come for a meeting today! They’ve already arrived now, Alpha Ethan, they’re all waiting for you!”
“What? When did this happen? I didn’t receive any message at all!”
Ethan’s drowsiness was instantly driven away.
He sat up, quickly went to change his clothes, his brows deeply furrowed.

“Why didn’t Zoe inform me about such an important matter? What is she even doing? If the Pack incurs significant losses, can she bear the responsibility?! Have Zoe come pick me up immediately.”
There was anger in his tone, thinking Zoe was still upset, which was why she neglected her work. To his surprise, the assistant on the other end paused, speaking with a hint of caution.
“Alpha Ethan, Zoe has already resigned.”
These words were like a bolt of lightning, striking his head.
Ethan couldn’t help but grip his stone tightly.
“When did this happen? Did I approve her resignation? Tell her to come back quickly! Until I agree, she’s not allowed to resign!”
At that moment, he couldn’t even bother with Isabelle, who was still sleeping on the bed, and roared as he spoke.
How dare Zoe resign? Just for those trivial matters?
He had clearly said that Isabelle was the most important person in his life, and he would find a way to compensate her for the grievances. she had suffered.
Yet, Zoe chose to resign without a word.
His eyes darkened, clearly furious to the extreme, scaring the secretary on the other end of the stone into trembling, not daring to speak.
Just as his patience was about to run out, a slender arm wrapped around his waist.
“What’s wrong, Ethan?”
Seeing her like this, Ethan couldn’t help but soften his voice. The scent of Isabelle, usually comforting, felt cloying to his wolf right
now.
“It’s work–related stuff, you don’t need to worry about it, go back to sleep.”
He planned to go to the Pack grounds; no matter what, he couldn’t offend his business partners, but Isabelle clung to him, acting spoiled without a care.
“Sleep with me, it’s still early, Ethan, please don’t leave me, okay?”
Her gentle words made his Adam’s apple bob, recalling last night’s events. He couldn’t help but pull Isabelle into his arms and lie back down on the bed.
By the time he had coaxed her to sleep, another half hour had passed, and his communication stone was full of calls from his secretary.
He darkened his gaze and replied to the message.
“Help me reschedule today’s meeting to the afternoon.”
Soon, the secretary replied to him.
“Alpha Ethan, your Beta
secretary
has already left… the contact is also off.”
His heart tightened, but then, looking at the sweet sleeping face of the woman in his arms, he felt that everything was worth it.
He curled up the corners of his mouth, then frowned, thinking of the unusual detail his secretary mentioned.
Sebastian clicked into his inbox; there were no new emails. He remembered Isabelle looking at his communication stone last night. With a hint of anticipation, he clicked into the recycle bin, then his face turned pale, and he gritted his teeth.
