Sera spun around, seeing Julian’s shocked expression. his lycan was close to the surface–she could feel it–the raw intensity in his eyes, the tension in his posture. The moment she hung up, he lunged forward, grabbing her hand.“Sera, who’s transferring packs?!” His king presence pressed down on her like an invisible force, demanding an answer.King, alpha of alphas.
She remained impassive, forcing her wolf into submission.“A college friend of mine. She’s leaving her pack and wanted to have a farewell dinner.”
His claws twitched beneath his skin, as if his lycan was still on edge. Perhaps her calmness reassured him. He didn’t suspect her of lying, but he still pulled her into a hug, his arms locking her against his chest, his voice trembling.“I thought it was you. You scared me.”
Sera offered a tight–lipped smile. “It’s just a Pack Transfer Request. Why overreacting?”
His heart pounded.“Sera, you know about my family. Three generations of kings. As an alpha, we can’t leave the pack.”
He paused, then added urgently, “If I did something wrong, you can hit me, yell at me, even kill me, but don’t leave the pack. I’ll never find you even with mind link, and that would be worse than death.”
She smiled faintly, nestled in his arms.“I understand.”
But she didn’t. Not really. If he truly loved her, why did he betray her?
His anxiety seemed to intensify. For the next few days, he remained glued to her. His lycan kept awake day and night, watching her every move, hovering whenever she stepped away. He even took her to a private club which was newly opened by his packmates. This constant surveillance made it difficult for Sera to visit the pack council to sign her document.
As soon as they entered the private room, his friends surrounded them.
“Sera, relax and enjoy yourself. We know you like quiet, so we replaced the music with piano pieces and cleared out the other costumers,” one man explained.
“That’s right, we even got you your favorite desserts. Julian took care of everything,” another chimed in.
“Come sit here, Sera. We have fresh fruit already cut up for you!”
Julian raised an eyebrow.“When did you all become so smart?”
“The whole world knows she’s the apple of your eye, Julian. If we don’t butter her up, will you still hang out with us?” one joked. “Exactly! Everyone knows nothing is more important than Sera to you. What else can we do?” They still thought she belonged to him. That she was his Luna, his mate, his forever.
Laughter filled the room. Then, a tiny girl came in- Chloe.

her.“I’m rushed to stop
sorry,
we’re not having any customers today.”
Ignoring him, she walked straight in.“Sera, Julian! What a coincidence! Mind if I join you?”
She sat down next to Sera without waiting for a reply, then, under the dim light, she pulled Julian’s hand under her dress. Sera’s wolf bristled, a sharp pang of betrayal slicing through her.
Sera trembled, glancing at Julian. His face hardened, as if he wanted to send Chloe away. But the moment he touched her private part, he closed his eyes, his hand subtly moving. His lycan reacted–not with affection, but territorial frustration. She could smell it. Sera’s breath caught in her throat.

Her wolf howled inside her, but she forced her expression to remain unreadable.During the party, Sera excused herself to the restroom
She splashed cold water on her face, trying to drown out the fury bubbling beneath her skin. A taunting voice broke the silence.
“Sera, you’re still young. You spend more time dressing yourself. Don’t be so conservative,” Chloe said, her voice laced with disdain.
Chloe pulled open her coat, revealing her lingerie set.
“Male lycans are visual creatures, driven by their penises. Want to make a bet? If I tell Julian I’m wearing this, will he stay with you, or will he… secretly bang me here and F**K me harder than usual?”
Sera trembled, but she remained silent, returning to the private room.
Chloe soon followed. As she passed Julian, she subtly poked his phone.
He opened it; a brief text message made him swallow hard, his eyes darkening.
He casually slipped his phone into his pocket, then stood up abruptly.
“Sera, I need to take a call. Stay here, I’ll be right back.”
Without waiting for a response, he left. Chloe followed him out.
Watching them leave, Sera fought to control her breathing, but a sharp pain ripped through her heart.
She wanted to drag Julian down into her pain, to make him suffer as she did.
Hours passed. Julian didn’t return. His friends sat there, looking uneasy.
Finally, one of them stood, offering to drive Sera home. He said that Julian might be delayed by pack business.
Wasn’t that ironic? What could possibly delay him except Chloe?
Sera said nothing before leaving the room. His friends escorted her to the car, but as she got in, she realized she’d left her purse.
As she turned to get it, she heard them talking inside.
“Finally, she’s gone! If this went on any longer, I would’ve blown it. Julian is really a born actor.”
