Chapter 1265
“Yes, people this good are rare these days. You should just go along with them.”
Half dazed, Leonard followed the men into their car.
Then he suddenly remembered his own car was still parked nearby.
“Wait a moment, my car is still here.”
One of the men quickly reassured him. “Don’t worry, my brother will stay behind and arrange for someone to tow it to the repair shop.”
“That’s right, leave the small stuff to me.”
“Rest assured, since we hit you, we’ll take full responsibility. We’ll never shirk it.”
Leonard was speechless.
With them talking like that, one after the other, he didn’t know what to say.
Still, people this eager to take responsibility after an accident really were rare.
He had never realized there were such genuinely earnest men left in the world.
When they arrived at the hospital, Leonard only wanted to get his arm checked.
But one of the men insisted on a full–body examination.
“Doctor, I hit him with my car–please check him thoroughly from head to toe.”
The doctor studied Leonard carefully.
It turned out he only had a minor scrape on his arm. Everything else seemed fine, he could even walk without issue.
And truly, it was rare these days to see someone so eager to take responsibility.
“I don’t see any serious injuries here,” the doctor said.
But the man pressed on earnestly. “I’m convinced he’s hurt internally. Look at him, he’s slurring his words. Better check him again, just to be safe.”
Leonard’s face hardened.
If he couldn’t recognize something was wrong now, he’d be a fool.
“I already said, I’m fine. A basic check–up is enough,” Leonard insisted firmly.
An awkward look crossed the man’s face.
The man hadn’t expected Leonard to be so hard to deal with.
The doctor found himself caught in the middle, unsure what to do.

But since the patient himself insisted he was fine, the doctor couldn’t justify forcing extra tests.
Otherwise, people might accuse the hospital of padding the bill.
In the end, the hospital followed Leonard’s request and only examined the injured area.

The results confirmed he was fine. Without lingering another moment, Leonard gathered his things and prepared to leave.
One of the men opened his mouth to speak again, but Leonard cut him off with a warning.
“I don’t know who sent you, but if you try to stop me again, I’ll report you.”
Seeing how firm Leonard’s attitude was, the man had no choice but to back down.
It was obvious Leonard had already guessed who was behind it. If they pressed any further, it would serve no
purpose.
The man stole a glance at the hospital clock and realized the timing lined up with his boss’s instructions–give or take ten minutes.
That was close enough. If they stalled any longer, it would look too deliberate.
“Please don’t misunderstand, sir. We mean no harm. We only thought your health should come first.”
He offered a final explanation, hoping to cover himself in case Leonard actually decided to sue.
But Leonard’s voice was ice–cold. “You know exactly what your intentions are.‘

With that, he turned on his heel and left.
