Chapter 1274
What was going on?
Didn’t people go into projects to make money anymore?
Or was Daniel actually some kind of philanthropist?
These questions circled in Aurora’s mind and wouldn’t go away.
Seeing her still sitting there without making a move, Megan began to grow anxious.
She spoke up directly. “Aurora, what are you waiting for? Mr. Lewis is still waiting.”
Megan’s words snapped Aurora out of her daze. She realized she had drifted off.
Looking down at the contract again, still in disbelief, she asked, “Mr. Lewis, are you sure you want to give me terms like this?”
“What’s wrong? Is there a problem with the contract?”
Daniel’s heart skipped at her words, a flicker of worry flashing across his face. He had already offered concessions–was Aurora still dissatisfied?
Noticing his misunderstanding, Aurora quickly explained, “I only meant, won’t you lose money this way?”
“There’s no need to worry about that, Miss Walton.”
Daniel’s smile returned. “If I dared to draft a contract like this, of course I have my reasons. I want a long–term partnership with you–that’s how we both maximize our gains.”
Hearing this, Aurora finally relaxed.
It seemed he truly valued her skills and had no hidden agenda. That reassured her.
After all, Daniel’s reputation in the industry wasn’t exactly spotless.
She had half–suspected he might have certain questionable hobbies, but as long as it didn’t affect business, she
could overlook it.
Still, she hadn’t expected him to make such generous concessions in their deal. It left her no choice but to doubt his motives.
But when she looked into his eyes, they were clear, even a little guileless. Obviously, there was nothing of that sort on his mind.
With her worries settled, they both signed the contract smoothly.
To Aurora’s surprise, Daniel seemed even happier than she was.
He held the contract up, looking it over with satisfaction in his eyes.
“Perfect. I’ll announce this on our company’s official site today.”

Aurora and Megan were speechless.
The two of them stared at Daniel, who looked as happy as a child, unable to figure out why he was so thrilled. After all, he really wasn’t making much money from this project. And he was supposed to be the client.
Yet the way he treated Aurora made it seem as though she were the one holding the power.
This Daniel was nothing like the man people gossiped about online.
Aurora’s lips twitched slightly, but she still answered seriously, “Alright, you can put it on the official site.”
Daniel rose to his feet and took his leave with formality. His goal was accomplished, and there was no reason to linger. He still needed to push the project forward.
When he was gone, Megan stood beside Aurora, her tone dazed. “Aurora, watching Mr. Lewis’s back just now, it almost felt like we were the ones giving him this contract, not the other way around.”
“I kind of feel the same.”
Even now, the whole thing didn’t feel real to Aurora. The project had come to her far too easily.
And Daniel was nothing like the rumors made him out to be.
Until this moment, Aurora still felt as though she were drifting in a haze.
Only when her gaze fell on the contract sitting on the desk did it begin to feel real.
Maybe she had simply overthought it.
Perhaps Daniel truly valued her ability—someone who focused on talent and potential rather than short–term profit.
