“At last, I was rescued.” Shannon’s shoulders slumped. “It had been a long time since I’d seen Ms. Wilder so angry.”
Oscar sized up Shannon.
“Ms. Wilder had a good temper and treated us well, but that didn’t mean she was a person without temper.”
Jessica propped her hand against her forehead.
After an entire day of meetings, with her mind filled with thoughts about the relationship between Sophie and Michael, her head felt like it was splitting, and she looked drained.
Chris noticed right away, walked over to stand behind her, and began massaging her temples with both hands.

Jessica closed her eyes and enjoyed the care from her lover.
