She had thought finding the right employee would be simple.

But now, after interviewing six or seven candidates, not one seemed suitable. Out of twelve people, was it really this hard to find just two?
If hiring only two felt like pulling teeth, what would happen later if she needed to expand the team further? That would be close to impossible.
Aurora let out a sigh. “No matter how difficult, we still need to find the right people.
“Otherwise, bringing in the wrong ones will only make trouble–there’ll be a painful adjustment period, and we’ll end up catering to their moods instead of focusing on the work.”
Just picturing it gave her a headache.
That was why she insisted on choosing carefully.
It wasn’t about filling the seats with whoever was available.
With the TV program coming up, she wouldn’t always have her phone at hand, and Ian alone would be overwhelmed.
She owed it to him to be thorough now.
But Megan looked deflated. “We’ve already gone through six or seven, and none were right. I don’t see the last few being much better. What do we do if they’re all the same?”
Her wide eyes searched Aurora’s face, almost pleading. “Maybe we should lower our standards a little?”
The meaning behind her words was obvious, and Aurora understood.
She calmly laid out the risks. “If we leave and the new hires aren’t responsible, what happens to Ian then?
“We’re not afraid of taking more time–we just want people who’ll actually care about this job. I want staff we can invest in for the long term, not ones who’ll half–do things.”
Hearing this, Ian felt a wave of gratitude. Her words made it clear–she was thinking of him.
Megan thought it over and realized Aurora was right.
When both she and Aurora left, Jan alone would struggle to hold up the studio, especially with a new project underway,
Even the most capable person couldn’t be everywhere at once.
Megan finally understood what Aurora meant and apologized earnestly.
“I’m sorry, Aurora. I wasn’t thinking things through enough before. I’ll be more careful from now on.
“You’re right, we can’t just leave lan here alone. If we go off and have fun while he’s stuck with everything, wouldn’t that be far too cruel?”

Aurora patted Megan’s shoulder, her expression warm. “As long as you can see that, it’s more important than anything else.”
Ian blinked quickly, hiding the wetness gathering in his eyes, and smoothly shifted the topic.
“Alright, let’s look at the last few candidates. Who knows, maybe one of them will be the right fit.”
Aurora let out a sigh, quiet enough that no one else could hear.
Hopefully, he was right–she really didn’t want this dragging on any longer.
Lately she was already stretched too thin. With the program ahead, she wouldn’t have the time to oversee everything at the studio.
Leaving Ian to handle it all alone didn’t sit right with her. He wasn’t someone to be treated like a workhorse.
With a careless nod in his direction, Aurora signaled for the next candidate to come in.
