Chapter 11
Melanie glanced at Evander, pressed her lips together, and didn’t say anything.
Winona clenched her fists tightly, and things just stayed at a standstill like that.
After a long time, she gave Evander a fierce glare, didn’t say a word, and turned to leave.
She didn’t say anything because she didn’t know what to say.
She didn’t like her daughter Melanie, who had an IQ problem, and she wanted Melanie to disappear from this world for good.
About all the lies she made up after sending Melanie away, she knew there were a lot of holes.
Some people in the family believed, some didn’t.
But she didn’t care, she just wanted Melanie to leave this house.
The most important thing was…
Winona glanced at Estelle beside her. She didn’t let anyone take anything from Estelle.
After Winona left, Evander touched his face, which was a bit swollen from being hit.
Melanie glanced sideways, and you couldn’t tell her mood from her voice, “Why did you stop me?”
If Evander hadn’t stopped her, she really would’ve just kicked Winona out just now.
Evander gave a wry smile, “She was our mom after all. Beating her up was easy, but you couldn’t handle the consequences.”
He watched Melanie grow up, and he had known since she was little that Melanie had a bad temper. She was the kind of person who absolutely couldn’t stand losing out, not even a little.
If he hadn’t stopped her just now, Melanie really would’ve hit Winona.
He wasn’t worried about Winona getting beaten up. Instead, it was because this society always said filial piety comes first. Nobody knew what Winona did to them, but if they hit their own mom, it would spread all over the internet real quick.
Melanie just came back, he didn’t want her to get a bad name.
Melanie frowned a little and didn’t say anything.
She never cared about any so–called reputation.
This the Rasmussen family, she hadn’t planned to come back.
It was Ruby who, for some crazy reason, insisted on helping her find her family.
The Rasmussen family found out that Estelle wasn’t their biological child. It was Ruby who did it, and Ruby also sent her DNA test report to the Rasmussen family.
Then, the Rasmussen family naturally came over.
At first, she blamed Ruby, but Ruby said, there are always some relatives who miss her.
So, she came back to the Rasmussen family.
For grandma, for Evander.

It was also to get back at Winona.
So, from the start, she didn’t plan to go easy on Winona.
Real mom?
Heh Ridiculous!
People like Winona, they deserved it even if they died!
But…
Evander and Grandma always wanted to protect her. She wasn’t someone who didn’t appreciate it.
“But…” Evander looked at her with a half–smile, “I couldn’t beat her up, but letting our dear mother suffer a little was fine.*
Melanie raised her eyebrows.
Evander leaned in to Melanie, “You forgot? When we were kids, she made us eat dead rats, and you spit in her bowl?”
Melanie, “…”
The dumb things she did as a kid, she couldn’t do now.
Back then, if she could do it, she would never talk nonsense!
However, she couldn’t do it, but it didn’t stop others from being able to.
Melanie stared at Evander with a wicked grin and said, “You go?”
“Of course, this kind of thing was for a playboy like me to do!” Evander grinned proudly, “Just wait and see.”
“Come on.”
Melanie gave some serious encouragement and then left.
Second floor of the villa.
Bethany watched Melanie leave and gave a loving smile. Then she turned to the butler and said, “Help me into the room.”
The butler glanced at Bethany’s face and smiled.“Looks like you’re in a good mood today.”
Meny
“Of course,” Bethany said.“I thought she’d soften up after all those years out there, but turns out she’s even sharper than before. That’s good too. I won’t have to worry about her getting pushed around anymore.”
The butler smiled, “Madam Rasmussen was so nice to Ms. Melanie, the other children were probably going to get jealous.”
“Hmph!” Bethany snorted. “I treated every kid in the family the same. It’s just that Mel grew up with me, so yeah, I did spoil her a bit more. But that’s because Mel was more filial and sensible. You can’t say I was playing favorites.”
“Yes, yes, yes,” the butler went along with her, “You were the fairest.”
In fact, Bethany really was pretty fair to all the kids at home.
But it was only when I was a kid.
After these grandkids grew up, whether they were good or bad, Bethany knew it as clear as day.
Whether it was good or scheming, Bethany always had her own way to judge.

Bethany joked with the butler for a while, then got serious “How’s the investigation going on that thing?”
Marux
Speaking of this, the butler also got serious and said, “We didn’t find anything. So far, we’ve checked everywhere from Atlanta, the provincial capital, down to every village in the towns. Still no trace of Ms. Estelle’s biological parents. Next, we’re planning to check
Cincinnati.”
Bethany took off the prayer beads in her hand and turned them gently.“Check carefully. Don’t miss a single clue.”
‘Yes.‘
The butler hesitated for a moment and said, “What if we find her parents, do we send her away?”
“Of course she had to go.” Bethany finished speaking and glanced at the butler.“Do you think I was a bit cruel? After all, Estelle had been with our family for so many years, right?”
“Not really,” the butler said. “You’ve managed the Rasmussen family for so many years. If nothing else, you’re really good at reading people. Ms. Estelle’s thoughts have always been written all over her face since she was a kid. She’s not a good one, I can see that too. I just wanted to say, if we send her away, it might be hard to explain to Mrs. Winona Rasmussen.”
Bethany’s fingers paused a little as she turned the prayer beads.
She put down the prayer beads, voice cold, “She’d better think first about how to give me an explanation.”
The butler froze, “What do you
mean?”
“You tell me, why would she favor someone who had nothing to do with her? Just because of that ridiculous high IQ?” Bethany gave a mocking laugh, “Her Estelle’s IQ was only one–fifty, that’s nothing compared to real high IQ.”
“That’s true,” the butler said. “Mr. Evander’s IQ was 180, but Mrs. Winona Rasmussen didn’t really like him. Instead, she doted on Ms. Estelle like she was her own eye. Over the years, she also spent a lot to raise her.”
The butler shook his head and said, “If we hadn’t done a paternity test for Estelle and Mrs. Winona Rasmussen, I would’ve really thought Estelle was her child.”
This really wasn’t the butler overthinking it.
If it hadn’t been for the paternity test, just by looking at how much Winona doted on Estelle, she would’ve thought Estelle was Winona’s real daughter and Melanie was the fake one.
But the truth was, Melanie was the real one, Estelle was the fake.
As for where things went wrong, the butler couldn’t figure it out either.
