the Rasmussen’s villa.
When Melanie got back to the Rasmussens‘ villa, the living room was full of people.
Except for Halle Rasmussen’s family–Melanie’s second aunt–who were abroad, the other four families all showed
- up.

At this moment, Bethany sat at the head of the table, and the others sat on both sides. The atmosphere was tense, like there had just been a heated argument.
As soon as Melanie came in, Bethany saw her. Her angry face softened right away, “Mel, come to grandma.”
The rest of the Rasmussen family followed Bethany’s gaze. Except for a few who had always been nice to Melanie, the others looked like they wanted to eat her alive.
Melanie glanced at everyone with an indifferent look, walked over to Bethany, and said in a tired but obedient voice, “Grandma.”
When she finished speaking, Melanie glanced around at everyone and asked gently, “Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
It was already eleven o’clock at night.
Bethany’s routine was always steady, she had to go to bed before ten.
Bethany was just about to speak when Simon suddenly slapped the table, “You still have the nerve to ask? Melanie, I just want to ask you, what grudge do you have against the Rasmussen family? Why do you want to hurt the Rasmussen family like this?”
Melanie raised her eyebrows. She sat in the seat next to Bethany, slouched lazily against the back of the chair. The obedient look she had
when facing Bethany was gone, and she was full of a kind of hostility.
“Melanie, I knew that because we were switched at birth, you suffered for over ten years and you felt resentful. But you couldn’t just ruin our family’s project with MR Group out of anger. Today Davon made it clear he wouldn’t work with the Rasmussen family anymore. The Rasmussen family lost a big project like MR Group, and it would take at least five years for them to move up again.”
Estelle had tears in her eyes, “You really went too far this time.”
“Shut up!” Bethany glanced at Estelle, not too warmly or coldly.“I was the one who told Mel to study with you guys. What? Are you going to blame me too now?”
‘Grandma, I didn’t mean to blame you…” Estelle had tears in her eyes and felt really wronged.
Winona couldn’t stand seeing Estelle upset. She stood up right away, anger rushing to her head, “Mom! You’re being so unfair. Melanie was the one who messed up, so why are you blaming Esty? She stayed up all night for this project and finally got a chance to meet the chairman of MR Group, and then what happened?”
Winona glared at Melanie, “It was because of this idiot that she couldn’t even submit the proposal and then got told by the other side that the cooperation was over. All of Esty’s hard work was wasted. So what if she said a few things to Melanie? Get it straight, Esty didn’t do anything wrong to this family.”
Bethany said calmly, “Estelle didn’t let this family down, but did Mel let this family down? Winona, do I need to spell out who caused all this today?”
Winona’s face froze, but she still insisted, “It was all because of Melanie. She shouldn’t have been alive!”
“Enough!” Bethany slammed the table and said angrily, “She was your daughter, your own flesh and blood! How could you say something like that?”

“If I had known earlier that Melanie was useless, I wouldn’t have given birth to her!” Winona never liked Melanie before, and now she
hated Melanie even more.
A one–billion project, and they just ruined it.
The key thing was, Melanie made such a big mistake, but Bethany was actually blind enough to defend her.
She was really going to be pissed off.
“You!” Bethany was so angry her chest hurt, and she couldn’t say a word for a long time.
Melanie got up and held her, then her whole vibe changed, and she walked toward Winona.
Bethany hurriedly grabbed her, “Don’t!”
Melanie’s temper–God knows who she got it from.
Once she lost it, she wouldn’t even recognize her own mom.
Melanie paused and turned to look at Bethany.“She’s trying to piss you off!”
Bethany was pretty mad at first, but Melanie’s words made her laugh.“Getting angry doesn’t cost me anything. No matter what, she’s still your mom. Be good, don’t go hitting people.”
Melanie didn’t use to be violent.
Maybe life out there had been too rough these past few years. It’d changed her. Now, she was quick to throw hands.
She’d seen some psychology interviews–people like Melanie didn’t act out for no reason. It was usually trauma. Violence made them
feel safe..
Bethany thought of this and felt even more sorry for Melanie.
This couldn’t go on. It looked like she had to find a psychologist to check on Melanie.
She couldn’t always throw her hands. Right now it was with her own family, and she could still hold herself back.
If she got into a fight outside, or messed with someone even tougher than the Rasmussen family, she wouldn’t be able to protect
Melanie.
Winona saw this and got even angrier, “What are you doing? You want to hit me? You’re out of your mind.”
Winona took a step forward and said, “Come on, I want to see if you dare to lay a hand on me.”
Melanie smiled.
She really was something, never seen anyone ask for trouble right in your face.
Since Winona wanted a beating, of course I had to give it to her.
Melanie lifted her foot and kicked at Winona.
Evander saw things were going wrong and quickly stepped in front of Winona.
“Bang!”
Melanie was going too fast, and Evander came out so suddenly that Melanie didn’t have time to stop her foot.
Melanie frowned, “What are you doing?”

Evander pushed himself up against the wall. He just felt like all his insides were about to break.
He just didn’t get it, Melanie looked so skinny, how come she was so strong?
That kick almost sent him to see the King of Hell.
Evander wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said helplessly, “I won’t stop you from hitting others, but not her!”
Who knew if these people at home were people or ghosts?
If Melanie really hit Winona, maybe in less than half an hour, it would be all over the news.
Let Winona play with fire–he’d make damn sure his sister didn’t get burned…

Melanie pinched her brow, feeling a bit annoyed. How many times did she have to say it? She really didn’t care about reputation at all!
She just wanted to protect the people she cared about.
But–Melanie turned her head and saw Bethany looking worried. She sighed a little, then said to Winona, “Get lost, you’re annoying!”
Winona was totally stunned. She didn’t expect Melanie would actually dare to hit her.
As soon as Melanie finished saying this, she instinctively took a step back.
Melanie glanced at everyone indifferently, took a contract out of her bag and handed it to Bethany, “The MR Group contract, just sign it and send it to MR Group!”
Bethany froze.“The MR Group contract? Mel? What was going on?”
Didn’t they say Melanie messed up the deal with MR Group?
Although she didn’t believe Melanie would do something like that, the cooperation between the Rasmussen family and MR Group was really gone.
How did Melanie have this contract?
Melanie looked at Simon and Estelle and said mockingly,“Can you believe what these two idiots said?”
Simon and Estelle stared wide–eyed, looking at the contract in Bethany’s hand in disbelief.
The two of them were stunned for almost a minute, then shouted at the same time, “No way! This contract is fake!”
