Chapter 7
Alessandro stared at me in complete shock, then grabbed Elena’s hand.
“Baby, stop covering for her. I know you probably feel bad seeing some young girl in trouble, but did she think about how hard things are for you? I don’t care what you say this isn’t over! I love you, and I can’t stand seeing you treated like this!“]]
*SMACK!*
The slap echoed across the platform. The timid, embarrassed middle–aged woman from the train was gone, replaced by someone completely different.]]
“Alessandro, are you deaf or just stupid?! I told you she gave me her seat! Didn’t you hear me?!“[]
The nearly six–foot–tall man actually smiled after getting slapped.[]
“Okay, okay, I believe you now! There’s my wife!“]
“So tell me, baby–who actually messed with you? I kept everyone from that train car here just in case. Look around and tell me who did this to you!“]
As soon as he finished speaking, chaos erupted in the crowd. Carter grabbed Nina’s hand, shoved past one of the guards, and bolted.]]
That movement caught Elena’s attention. Her gaze swept over the commotion, and once she recognized the assholes, she beckoned her husband with a wave.[]
“Alessandro, it was those two running cowards.“[]
Alessandro spun around and barked orders.
“Bring them back here!“[]
No matter how young and quick Carter and Nina were, they were no match for trained security. []
Before they could make it even ten feet, two guards kicked them to the ground and dragged them back by their collars.
The other passengers who’d been surrounded saw what happened and freaked out, desperately pleading with Elena.[]
“Ma’am, please ask your husband to let us go! We have families waiting at home–we really can’t be delayed any longer!“]]
“Yeah, please, ma’am! We’re all just trying to get home for the holidays. Can’t you cut us some slack?”
Watching these passengers beg Elena, I suddenly remembered how they’d just stood by coldly on the train.
Turns out the hardest thing to face in this world is human nature…]
Elena must have been thinking the same thing because she ignored their pleas completely
Alessandro noticed the situation and came over, crouching down beside Elena.]]
“Baby, what’s the deal with these people?“]
Just a bunch of bystanders who like to talk shit when it’s convenient. Whatever, let them go.”
Alessandro’s eyes flashed with something dangerous as he looked at the crowd. He walked aside to make a phone call, then ordered the group to leave.[]
As the sky started getting darker, the medical team Alessandro had called arrived.[]
He walked over to me with genuine remorse and bowed deeply.[]
“I’m sorry, kid. Hurting you was my mistake, But I promise you–every bit of pain you suffered today, I’m gonna pay back a hundred times over“]
While he spoke, he quickly pulled out his knife and drove it hard into his own calf. Blood immediately poured out.[]
His actions terrified me. I never expected that when he said he’d “pay me back,” he meant literally.[]
While I was still in shock, he was already raising the knife toward his other leg
I tried to stop him, but Elena grabbed my arm.]
“Leave him alone. He made a mistake and needs to pay for it, or I won’t forgive him either! He’s tough as nails–don’t worry about him![]
