Chapter 18
Emily had important business to attend to today and didn’t want to get tangled up with Bianca.
She pretended not to see her and tried to walk away.
“Emily, do you hate me that much now? You can’t even stand to look at me!”
Bianca was like an annoying shadow she couldn’t shake off.
Tears welled up in Bianca’s eyes, making her look pitiful, which immediately drew the attention of onlookers.
Emily couldn’t understand how Bianca could cry on command like that. She should have been an actress with that talent.
“Isn’t it you who gets all emotional when you see me? I’m just thinking about your health. How can you blame me for that? Poor me…” Emily retorted sarcastically.
Emily was naturally beautiful, and her current demeanor made her look even more charming, not annoying at all. In contrast, Bianca looked like she was about to faint any second, which was quite off–putting.
Some smart onlookers saw through Bianca’s true nature and began to look at her in a different light.
Bianca noticed this too. She dug her nails into her palm to stay calm.
She couldn’t panic!

Emily, who used to be so submissive and self–conscious, had become so difficult to deal with. Maybe she had pushed her too hard before and needed to give her a little sweetness now.
Bianca bit her lip, forcing back her tears. “Emily, when did I ever say that I blame you for my condition? I’m sorry, it must be our parents who were too worried about me and misunderstood. You wouldn’t blame everyone, would you?”
Bianca was beautiful but had another nickname: “Sick Beauty.” Everyone knew she wasn’t in good health.
Hearing her words, people started to think Emily was being unreasonable, probably trying to compete for attention, and jealous of
Bianca’s illness.
Emily sneered inwardly.
Since Bianca was putting on a show, she might as well play along.
“Never said it? If it wasn’t you, why would I have lived in the storage room of your art studio for years?”
“I didn’t…”
“Don’t say you didn’t know. You recently painted right next to my bed. Don’t tell me you’ve developed amnesia and forgot?” Emily pressed
- on.
Bianca was momentarily speechless.

Chapter 18
The surrounding people were shocked and started whispering among themselves.
“Isn’t Bianca’s family supposed to be rich, living in a mansion? Why would Emily need to live in a storage room?”
“Wasn’t it said that Emily, having suffered outside, was always jealous and bullying Bianca? There must be some gossip here.”
Bianca nearly ground her teeth to dust.
Why had Emily become so difficult to deal with now?
But she couldn’t show it.
89
She swayed, and a friend quickly supported her.
“Emily, you’re so cruel. You know Bianca isn’t well, yet you deliberately provoke her? It’s not because you’re too noisy and ill–mannered that the family had to arrange the quietest place for you. You should be grateful.”
One of Bianca’s friends immediately jumped in to accuse Emily.
Emily looked at her coldly.
It seemed Bianca had been spreading lies about her to her friends.
No wonder she was always targeted and bullied at school in her past life.
Bianca leaned against her friend Lily, shaking her head vigorously. “It’s all my fault. Don’t blame Emily.”
Bianca played the role of the good sister, disregarding her own health to persuade, “Emily, if you’re upset and angry with me, I get it. But can you not hurt yourself?”
“You’ve been staying out all night for the past two days, and the family’s worried sick. Where have you been? You just turned eighteen, and some guys love to take advantage of innocent girls like you. Don’t get tricked.”
Bianca was deliberately leading others to believe that Emily had been out with men, ruining her reputation.
Emily felt suffocated by the nonsense.
She wanted to slap Bianca.
But someone beat her to it!
“You’re a college student, yet you can’t even speak clearly. Which teacher taught you? Emily has been staying with me these past two days. Your family may not like her, but my family does.”
Sophia slapped Bianca, leaving everyone stunned.
After hitting her, Sophia walked over to Emily and linked arms with her, exuding confidence.
However, Sophia had lied about the living arrangements, so she quickly winked at Emily, signaling her to play along.

Chapter 18
Seeing Sophia, Bianca felt a surge of old and new hatred, wanting to pull her hair out.
But she couldn’t ruin her image now.
It was humiliating and painful.
Bianca cried pitifully, “Emily, it seems you really hate me. You’d rather stay with Sophia than come home with me. If that makes you happy, I respect your choice.
“But you already gave your spot to Sophia. Can you not take it out on James? You know he’s fulfilling Grandma’s last wish. What will it take for you to let James continue his studies? I’ll even slap myself…”
She was betting that Emily wouldn’t let her hit herself.
But Emily didn’t move.
Instead, Sophia laughed, “Stop pretending. Go ahead and hit yourself!”
Bianca was stuck.
She glanced around, then gritted her teeth and slapped herself.
“Is this enough?” Bianca asked tearfully.
Emily found it boring.
A few slaps couldn’t make up for the harm and schemes Bianca had inflicted on her in her past life.
Thinking of how she had crawled out of the Johnson Villa covered in blood before she died, Emily’s eyes turned cold.
Seeing no reaction from Emily, Bianca smirked inwardly.
This time, she would ruin Emily’s reputation to avenge today’s humiliation.
She bit her lip and continued slapping herself.
Emily, however, pulled Sophia away, leaving the scene.
Bianca watched Emily leave and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Her face was delicate, and even though she hadn’t slapped herself hard, combined with Sophia’s earlier slap, her face was now red and
swollen.
89
Watching Emily’s retreating figure, she looked heartbroken and tried to continue slapping herself, but her friends stopped her, comforting
her.
She said, “No, I don’t want Emily to keep misunderstanding me and taking it out on others. If slapping myself can change things, I’ll keep doing it…”

Chapter 18
The next moment, the fainted from the emotional turmoil into her friend’s arms.
Emily didn’t need to guess to know this would happen. She didn’t stop and parted ways with Sophia, heading to continue her registration.
Unbeknownst to her, someone had already posted photos on the campus forum, which showed Bianca being slapped by Sophia, and Emily coldly watching Bianca slap herself.
