“Kayla Sexton, who do you think people will believe, you or me?” A woman’s voice rang out
Kayla slowly opened her eyes, pulling herself out of a dizzying haze. Every inch of her body seemed to still ache with the intense, searing pain of being burned by flames.
Listening to the smug voice in her ears, Kayla looked up at Marianna Walter, who stood before her in a white dress, calmly turning on the faucet.
Marianna leisurely poured water over her head, the droplets sliding slowly down her hair. To Kayla, this scene was so painfully familiar.
At this moment, Kayla was certain–she had truly crossed time, traveling back to high school. This was the first time Marianna had falsely accused Kayla of bullying, and it was the moment when Kayla’s tragic fate had begun in her previous life.
Thinking back on everything from her old life, Kayla felt a sharp, gut–wrenching pain in her heart.
In her previous life, Kayla had seen Marianna fooling around with a group of thugs, even mocking Davon Ortiz and Tristian Sexton as fools, toying with them as if they were mere pawns in her hands.
Kayla hadn’t wanted her older brother Tristian or her childhood sweetheart Davon to be manipulated by Marianna. Marianna appeared sweet and innocent on the outside, but was actually a schemer.
Kayla had wanted to keep Marianna away from them, which had made Marianna hold a grudge against her.
Marianna had told Kayla to come to the restroom, deliberately dousing herself with water, then falsely accusing Kayla of bullying her.
Kayla had always been focused on Davon at school, and the other students thought of her as proud and distant. As a result, Kayla wasn’t close with any of them.
Marianna, on the other hand, had won everyone’s sympathy and trust with her delicate, innocent act and the image of a poor, helpless girl from a humble background.
Even though Kayla tried to explain over and over that everything was part of Marianna’s scheme, no one listened.
When Marianna stood there, sobbing, looking fragile and pitiful, drenched from head to toe, nobody believed Kayla, the “high and mighty” heiress of the Sexton family.
The bullying accusation ruined Kayla’s reputation, and she became the target of scorn and hatred from the entire school. Tristian and Davon, as if under Marianna’s spell, repeatedly hurt Kayla to please Marianna.
Tristian and Davon sabotaged Kayla’s SATs, hired someone to throw acid on her, and destroyed her appearance–her most important asset for her future career.
They even had someone seduce Kayla, leading her life from a moment of hope straight back into despair. They ruined Kayla’s education, career, and life.

As Kayla thought back to it all now, the pain felt as raw as if she were reliving it. It took her a long time to accept that she had crossed time. A small part of her felt a sense of relief.
Fortunately, Kayla had traveled back in time. The tragedy hadn’t happened yet, and she still had a chance to save herself.
Marianna, thinking Kayla was stunned into silence, let out a smug laugh. “Have you thought about how you’ll apologize to me in front of everyone, Ms. Sexton?”
Kayla narrowed her eyes slightly, a cold, cynical smile curving her lips, and she calmly questioned, “Can’t believe you actually have the guts to frame me like this. Aren’t you afraid someone will expose what you’ve
done?
Marianna sneered, “What’s there to be afraid of? I’ve already checked–there’s no one in the restroom, and no cameras. Who’s gonna know what really happened?
“Besides, compared to you, the heiress of the Sexton family, I’m so vulnerable and pitiful. People will believe whatever I say.”
Kayla’s gaze turned icy, her smile widening. She thought, ‘Just like in my old life, Marianna came prepared.
“Well, that’s perfect then,” Kayla said. It was exactly what she wanted. A torrent of grudges and hatred surged within her, a storm of pent–up emotions desperate for release.
Kayla’s eyes reddened as she charged forward like an enraged beast. Before Marianna could fully comprehend the meaning behind Kayla’s words, Kayla grabbed Marianna by the hair.
As Marianna was filled with shock and fear, Kayla yanked her straight into the restroom stall.
“Kayla, what do you think you’re doing?” Marianna yelled. The intense pain snapped her back to reality as she screamed in terror, trying to break free from Kayla’s grip.
But Kayla showed no mercy. She delivered a brutal kick to the back of Marianna’s knee. The moment. Marianna crumpled to the ground, Kayla shoved her head forcefully into the toilet bowl.
“You want to frame me for bullying? That little bit of water won’t be enough. Let me show you what real bullying feels like,” Kayla said coldly as she turned on the flush, letting the water rush in torrents over Marianna’s sweet, fragile face.
The icy water slapped against Marianna’s soft cheeks, and in that instant, her previously innocent and meek expression was completely gone.
Marianna struggled desperately, trying to break free from Kayla’s hold, but Kayla kept Marianna’s head pressed tightly into the toilet.
“Kay–Kayla, you wretch. Let go. Let go of me. Ugh Marianna’s muflled voice bubbled up from the toilet.
But Kayla showed no intention of letting Marianna go. Instead, Kayla pushed down harder, forcing Marianna further into the toilet bowl.
Kayla’s bloodshot eyes were filled with rage. She hated Marianna so much that she almost wished she could

drown Marianna right here in the toilet. Kayla thought that perhaps that would end the tragic outcome of her previous life.
The painful memories from her old life flashed through Kayla’s mind.
Davon, trying to defend Marianna, forced Kayla to kneel and apologize to her. No matter how much Kayla explained that everything was Marianna’s plot, Davon, who had grown up with Kayla, still didn’t believe her.
Davon even gaslit Kayla, telling her she was a sinner and that she should treat Marianna better to atone for her supposed wrongdoings.
Tristian, in an attempt to punish Kayla on Marianna’s behalf, forcibly cut off Kayla’s most cherished long hair. Even when Kayla’s head was bleeding. Tristian just coldly muttered, “You deserve it.”
During those days, Kayla became the laughingstock of the entire class, forced to wear a hat whenever she went out, too ashamed to look anyone in the eye.
Later, for Marianna’s sake, Davon and Tristian had repeatedly pushed Kayla into the depths of despair, making her suffer hopelessly in agony.
Thinking back on it, Kayla tightened her grip, while Marianna’s resistance grew weaker and weaker. It felt as though Marianna might drown right here in the toilet.
Just as Marianna was on the verge of suffocating, Kayla suddenly snapped back to her senses and released her
grip.
Kayla thought. Luckily, it’s not too late. I don’t want to take the life of this wretch, Marianna, and end up with a murder charge. I can’t ruin this second chance at life.
‘Besides, if Marianna dies so easily, how am I supposed to make Davon, Tristian, and all the people who’ve hurt me pay for what they’ve done?
Marianna deserves to die. But Davon, Tristian, and everyone who’s hurt me–they all deserve to die. So, it’s not the right time to kill Marianna. I can’t rush this.
Freed from Kayla’s hold, Marianna gasped for relief. Marianna jerked her head up, drawing ragged, desperate breaths. Her face was a mask of sheer terror and utter humiliation.
Marianna’s hair stuck messily to her cheeks, water dripping down her chin. She looked nothing like her usual sweet and innocent self.
She tried to wipe the filthy water from her face, but the unbearable stench, along with the lingering water in her mouth and nose, made Marianna gag repeatedly.
