Chapter 34 Jealous Frenzy–Kael Confronted CorinÂ
Kael’s eyes darkened.Â
He pulled her into his arms with a little force, frowned, and spread out her hand–her palm was already red.Â
“Does it hurt? If you want to hit her, don’t use your hand.”Â
His tone was filled with worry.Â
Nova froze for a second, then immediately felt it was ridiculous.Â
She tried to yank her hand out of his grip. “Let me go!”Â
Beside them, Sloane stared at Kael in a daze, as if she couldn’t believe her ears. “Mr. Voss?”Â
“Sloane Reed!” The cold sharpness in his tone made Sloane’s spine tingle.Â
Kael’s large, strong, and warm hand wrapped around Nova’s hand as he lifted his eyes and shot Sloane a cold glare.Â
“It seems a few days in jail isn’t punishment enough for you!”Â
Sloane’s eyes widened in shock. “No, Mr. Voss! I’m telling the truth!”Â
“My wife is kind–hearted and upright. She’s too noble for those dirty tricks. But you–first you egged your mom on to bully her, then you had the nerve to pester her like a shameless pest.”Â
Men in Kael’s social circle were raised with etiquette from childhood, and they rarely swore or insulted others. For him to speak to Sloane like this now? Nova lowered her eyes and curled her lips in a mocking smirk.Â
It was the first time Sloane had been insulted so harshly by Kael. Her nose stung, and her eyes immediately turned red.Â
She held back tears, her voice filled with grievance. “Mr. Voss…”Â
When Kael saw the tears glistening in her eyes, his gaze darkened. He spoke coldly, “Since you don’t learn your lesson, starting tomorrow, Voss Group will never cooperate with your agency again–on any of our products!”Â
At his words, Nova froze.Â
She hadn’t expected Kael to go this far. Is he really going to ruin Sloane?Â
Voss Group held immense influence in New York. If they announced they’d never work with Sloane’s agency again, smaller companies would follow suit. That would spell the end for Sloane’s agency–and her career!Â
Sloane’s face turned pale inch by inch, as if the sky had collapsed on her.Â
Could Kael really be this ruthless to me? Is he going to destroy my career? Destroy me? No–I can’t believe it! No way!Â
“Mr. Voss…”Â
She cried and reached out to grab Kael’s clothes, but the man brushed her off indifferently. She stumbled backward, nearly falling, and crashed into the wall–her back throbbing with pain.Â
“If you don’t know how to behave like a decent person, I’ll teach you.” His words were incredibly harsh.Â
Sloane’s face turned as bitter as gall. She pressed her lips tightly together, overwhelmed with humiliation.Â
But Kael paid her no mind–he didn’t even spare her a glance. Instead, he put his arm around Nova and left.Â
Sloane stood frozen in place… her face ashen.Â
A moment later, her phone vibrated in her pocket–it was her agency manager, Mark Wolf, calling.Â

“Sloane Reed‘ Look what you’ve done) Who do you think you are? Who gave you the guts to offend Mrs. Voss? You must have a death wish! And now you’ve dragged the whole agency down with you you’re a curserÂ
The voice on the other end was almost a scream, as if he wanted to tear Sloane apart.Â
steane bit her lip and endured the humiltation.Â
Tim telling you–we won’t let this go! You just wait for the lawsuit!”Â
Sloane panicked. “Mr. Wolf Mr. Wolf! Please, let me explain…”Â
Beep, beep, beep… The call cut off abruptly.Â
Sloane’s heart plummeted.Â
Her eyes turned red, and her knuckles whitened as she gripped her phone.Â
This time, Kael really was ruthless! But she refused to believe he didn’t doubt Nova and Corin at all. He was such a paranoid man–he couldn’t stand a singleÂ
flaw in what he saw as his own!Â
An idea crossed her mind.Â
She unlocked her phone–if she was going to suffer, she’d make sure Nova suffered too.Â
Meanwhile, Kael and Nova returned to the ward.Â
He took her red palm in his hand and rubbed it gently, his voice soft with concern. “Does it hurt?”Â
Nova’s expression was cold and indifferent. She pressed her lips together and said nothing, trying to pull her hand away…Â
“Next time someone messes with you, don’t use your hand. Kick them with your foot, or grab something to hit them with. I’ll take care of the consequences–your husband’s got your back.”Â
Kael didn’t let her pull away. He pressed his thumb lightly against her palm, then fetched an ice pack to soothe the redness.Â
As Nova heard his overbearing yet protective words, her body stiffened for a moment. It felt like a hook had sunk into her heart, twisting painfully.Â
She lowered her eyes, her vision clouded.Â
Suddenly, she remembered–this was exactly what he’d said to her back when she’d been bullied before. It was just a simple sentence, but it had given her a sense of security she’d never forgotten.Â
But now? When she’d nearly been harassed by Josh, he’d stood by and done nothing.Â
Something between them had long since soured.Â
Nova blinked back the stinging in her eyes and forced a smile.Â
He opened the bag, took out the food containers, and lifted a fork to feed her–mini meatballs and cornbread muffins.Â
The smell was familiar–it was from the shop near their high school.Â
It had always been her favorite.Â
He’d thought she loved the taste of the meatballs; back in high school, he’d brought them to her every morning. But in reality, what she’d loved was the love he’d put into it… the way his eyes had lit up with affection for her. That memory was etched deep in her heart, impossible to forget.Â
Now, the fragrant steam made Nova’s eyes red. She swallowed, her throat bitter. “Kael, it doesn’t taste the same anymore…”Â
Kael froze and didn’t catch the hidden meaning in her words. He tasted the meatball, then smiled. “It tastes the same. Just try one more bite.”Â

Chapter 34 Jealous Frenzy–Kael Confronted CorinÂ
Nova bit her inner lip and said nothing, her heart already drowning in bitterness.Â
She let out a sigh and spoke softly. Earlier, Sloane kept bringing up Seattle. She was really talking about Corin, wasn’t she? Do you doubt me too?–Â
It was time to lay it all out. She didn’t want Corin to get into trouble because of her.Â
As soon as she finished speaking, Kael’s expression changed instantly.Â
He lowered his eyes, and a cold darkness settled under his lashes. The veins on the back of his hand–still holding the food container–bulged, spreading up hisÂ
forearm.Â
All men had a flaw–especially when it came to their own women. How could he not doubt? No one could bear the shame of being cheated on.Â
Kael’s face looked calm, but his heart was a storm.Â
Nova spoke softly, “I can tell you clearly–I have nothing to do with Corin. He’s helped me a few times, and I’m grateful for that. That’s all. Don’t overthink it, and don’t listen to what others say.”Â
Nova was exhausted. She didn’t want any more trouble–she just wanted to leave quietly….Â
But to Kael, her words sounded like she was defending Corin. When had Nova ever talked to him this much lately? Now she was going out of her way to explain for another man.Â
Kael’s jaw tightened as he pressed his knuckle gently against her soft cheek and smiled. “I already told you–I trust you. If you say so, I’ll believe it.”Â
Nova stared at him for a few seconds, and when she realized he wasn’t joking, she finally relaxed.Â
She didn’t see the dark glint hidden in his eyes.Â
He’d temporarily trust Nova–but Corin? As a man, he didn’t believe Corin had no ulterior motives.Â
It’s time to meet this man face to face.Â
