“I’m not choosing anyone.” 

“Your logic doesn’t make sense!” 

Harrison stared the kidnappers down, dead serious: 

You said you’re here to get revenge on me by killing the woman I love most.” 

‘But if I pick someone, that means she’s the one I love most, right? Yet you’re planning to let her go and kill the other two who supposedly matter less.” 

That goes against your whole plan.” 

It should be whoever I pick, you kill-THAT would be real revenge.” 

The kidnappers looked completely mind-fucked, actually thinking through his logic. 

Even Kira stopped crying, tears just hanging there making her look ridiculous. 

Shut up! Since you won’t choose, don’t blame me for getting brutal!” 

He raised the knife toward my throat. 

Evelyn!” Harrison screamed. 

Light before the blade came down, cops burst through the doors: 

POLICE! Nobody move!” 

he fake kidnappers instantly let us go and scattered like roaches.

Harrison, why did you call the police?” 

That’s not how it works in the novels! There aren’t supposed to be cops-you were supposed to pick me…” 

The fake kidnappers snapped back to reality, pointing straight at Kira: 

She’s the one behind this! We’re just actors she hired-she said if we helped her put on this show, she’d pay us ten grand each.” 

She told us she was Mrs. Harrison, that nothing would happen to us, and if it did, she’d handle it.” 

I thought this was some rich people roleplay shit. If I knew cops were coming, no way in hell would I have agreed!” 

All eyes turned to Kira, who went white as a sheet. She went full psycho: 

‘You’re lying!” 

‘I don’t even know you! You obviously have beef with Harrison and wanted to make him lose the woman he loves most…”

The guy shot back: “Lady, what are you talking about? I’m just an extra from the film studios-what beef would I have with some big 

shot CEO?” 

“You… you’re Harrison’s business rival! Harrison destroyed your company, so you hate him!” 

Even the cops were like, seriously? 

They immediately cuffed Kira too, hauling her ass to the station. 

Now Kira was finally scared. She clawed at Harrison’s legs, sobbing: 

“Baby, just call the police chief! Get them to let me go!” 

“One phone call and this all goes away. I can’t go to jail-I’m your first love! I can’t have a criminal record!” 

Harrison knelt down and pried her fingers off one by one, looking completely done: 

“Kira, bribing cops is illegal.” 

“And I don’t even know the police chief.” 

Kira’s eyes went wide, total disbelief: 

“That’s impossible! You’re a CEO! You’ve got power, influence-when you sneeze, the whole city shakes!” 

“Some random police chief should be jumping at your command…” 

Lily, who’d been helping stop my bleeding, finally lost it. 

She stood up, went through Kira’s entire family tree with some choice words, then pointed right in Harrison’s face: 

‘Harrison, when Kira first abandoned Pearl for being autistic, you came to me desperate for help.” 

‘I hooked you up with Evelyn, my smartest, most talented college friend.” 

‘She was way smarter than me-if she wasn’t stuck taking care of Pearl, she’d be a way better specialist than I am by now.” 

You promised you’d never screw Evelyn over, and this is how you treat her?”
