think you are? You’re not worthy of her!” 1Â
“Aidan Callahan!”Â
My father roared, “This is my daughter’s wedding! Get the hell out!”Â
“Or I’ll have you thrown out.”Â
But Aidan ignored him completely, his eyes locked on me, blazing with a crazed obsession.Â
“Seraphina, come with me! You can’t do this!”Â
“And why not?”Â
I looked at him coldly. “Aidan, what right do you have to tell me what to do?”Â
“Besides, isn’t this what you wanted? What you forced my father to agree to? For me to marry Dante Falcone?”Â
“My standing here at this altar should be your wish come true.”Â
“It’s not like that, Seraphina!”Â
He shouted, “You’ve belonged to me since we were kids! I won’t let anyone else have you!”Â
The guests in the pews began to murmur, some pulling out their phones to record, others whispering.Â
“What’s going on? I thought the Callahan heir rejected the Principessa.”Â
“Yeah, he used that blood debt to force this marriage, didn’t he?”Â
“So why does he look like he’s the one trying to stop it?”Â
Hearing the whispers, the fury on Aidan’s face intensified.Â
“All of you, shut up!”Â
He then turned back to me, his tone pleading.Â
“Seraphina, let’s stop fighting.”Â
“This was all my fault. Just come back with me, please?”Â
“This soldato isn’t worthy of you. I’ll get you out of here right now.”Â
He spoke with absolute conviction, as if my return to him was a foregone conclusion.Â
But he was wrong.Â
Once I make a decision, I don’t look back.Â

“Aidan.”Â
My voice was steady. “You were the one who betrayed us.”Â
“The moment Isabelle appeared, we were over.”Â
“I didn’t betray you!”Â
He explained, a frantic edge to his voice, “Seraphina, my feelings for you never changed! Isabelle is just…”Â
“Enough!”Â
I cut him off sharply. “Aidan, don’t say another word.”Â
“Everything that comes out of your mouth disgusts me.”Â
“Seraphina, you’re just being stubborn!”Â
“You want me to beg? Fine. I’m begging you. Please, come home with me.”Â
In front of everyone, he dropped to one knee.Â
“I’m kneeling, Seraphina! Look at me!”Â
Tears streamed down his face. “I have never knelt for anyone inÂ

Gasps rippled through the crowd; everyone stared, stunned.Â
my life.”Â
I remembered yesterday. His cold indifference as he left me to those thugs.Â
I remembered his tenderness as he held Isabelle, his disgust when he called me cruel.Â
Whatever I felt for him had already died.Â
“Aidan, get up.”Â
I said softly, “The Seraphina who loved you is gone.”Â
“Nothing you do now matters. I will not forgive you.”Â
Those words struck him like a physical blow.Â
“No, this isn’t how it’s supposed to be.”Â
He muttered, dazed, “Seraphina, you can’t do this to me.”Â
“We grew up together. All those memories…”Â
I didn’t want to hear it. I turned to Dante, my voice firm. “Let’s continue.”Â
Dante nodded and took my hand again.Â
Aidan scrambled to his feet, a wild fire in his eyes.Â
