Chapter 3Â
Luna had stripped off my lower garments completely. She held up her phone, her bloodshot eyes glaring at me from between my legs.Â
‘Let me see how Sebastian makes love to you. Does he kiss you here?”Â
Her hands gripped the soft flesh of my inner thighs with bruising force as she panted heavily, reaching to lift my shirt.Â
How does he touch you? How does he kiss you?”Â
very hair on my body stood on end. I jumped up, frantically pulling on my pants:Â
Are you out of your fucking mind?”Â
Catherine Snow, now you’re showing your true colors.”Â
una’s face twisted into a grotesque, menacing smile, her phone practically shoved against my face.Â
Sebastian belongs to me. No one can take him away. If you dare seduce him, I’ll make you pay the price.”Â
I’m going to record everything that happens today and post it online, send it to all your friends and family. I’ll let everyone see Catherine Snow’s shameless true nature!”Â
hinking of what she’d just done, I felt my throat itch with the urge to vomit.Â
his had gone far beyond jealousy. I forced myself to stay calm, talking to her while slowly moving toward the door.Â
I have absolutely no romantic interest in Mr. Brightwell. This business trip is purely professional.”Â
una’s eyes widened dramatically, her bloodshot gaze seeming ready to pop from their sockets as she shook her head frantically.Â
Impossible. Sebastian is so perfect-no woman could resist him. Catherine Snow, you’re lying.”Â
Sebastian is the most wonderful man in the world. Every woman wants him, every woman tries to steal him away, but he can only elong to me.”Â
held my breath and slowly turned the door handle:Â
Sebastian belongs only to you. No one could ever take him from you. You can relax.”Â
But it wouldn’t turn. I felt around the lock and discovered that Luna had sealed it shut.Â
una suddenly stopped moving and smiled at me:Â
So you finally admit you want to steal Sebastian away.”Â
Psychopath, I thought but didn’t dare say aloud.Â
[squinted, searching the dim room for my phone. Everything seemed distorted, and my already protesting heart from lack of sleep now felt like it might stop entirely, thundering in my ears.Â
I pressed my lips tightly together, refusing to answer any more of her questions.Â
Luna continued her deranged rambling:Â
Still trying to fool me with this business trip excuse? After you landed, you and Sebastian went directly into the same room for nineteen straight hours.”Â
“You made eye contact 87 times, your hands touched 15 times, you shared knowing smiles 23 times-I saw everything.”Â
“Because of you, Sebastian didn’t send me a single check-in photo.”Â
My gaze fell on her bruised knees. Just the thought of eyes watching me through keyholes for nineteen hours made my blood run cold.Â
gave up searching for my phone, struggling to suppress my emotions as I spoke calmly:Â
You don’t have to believe me, but surely you trust Sebastian’s word.”Â
He’s right next door. You could take me to confront him and see whether I’m lying.”Â
