Frederick ruffled his son’s messy hair and said, “Let’s eat first, then go to the airport to pick up Shannon.”
After washing up and changing clothes, the father and son went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, and then headed to the airport.
Before going to the airport, Timothy made a special stop at a flower shop to buy a bouquet of lilies that Shannon
liked.
An hour later.
Heathrow Airport.
Frederick waited with Timothy at the arrival gate for over an hour before they finally saw Shannon coming out, push- ing a luggage cart.
The moment Timothy saw Shannon, he ran forward, smiling and shouting loudly.
“Shannon!”
Shannon bent down to pick Timothy up, kissed his little face, and asked, “Timothy, have you been good and listened to your dad?”
“Yes!”
Timothy nodded repeatedly and handed the flowers to Shannon. “Shannon, these flowers are for you.”
Looking at the vibrant lilies in her arms, Shannon’s eyes were filled with emotion.
She hugged Timothy tightly and said softly, “Timothy, thank you for always remembering the flowers I like. Every time we meet, you bring me some.”
Timothy hugged Shannon tightly. “Because I like Shannon. Shannon is good to me, so I want to be good to Shannon
too.”
The two of them were so happy together, they looked just like a real mother and son.
In the past, if Frederick heard Timothy say something like that, he wouldn’t have thought anything of it. He would have just felt pleased that his young son already knew how to care for others and was so thoughtful.
But now, hearing Timothy say these things to Shannon, the first person Frederick thought of was Abigail.
Both father and son knew what kind of flowers Shannon liked, but neither of them knew what Abigail liked.
Thinking of this, a wave of guilt rose in Frederick’s heart.

Shannon noticed Frederick’s troubled expression and stepped forward to ask, “Frederick, what’s wrong? Aren’t you happy to see me?”
Frederick pushed aside his complicated thoughts, looked up at Shannon, and forced a faint smile. “It’s nothing, I just didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Let’s go back to the hotel first.”
With that, the three of them left the airport and returned to the hotel.
Frederick booked a room for Shannon next to his own. After helping her settle her luggage, he reminded her, “I’ll leave Timothy in your care then.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Timothy immediately protested loudly, “No!”
“Dad, I want to go with you to find Mom!”
Shannon was also a bit puzzled. “Why aren’t you taking Timothy with you?”
“If you’re worried you won’t have the energy to look after Timothy, I can go with you. I’m a woman too, and I should have things in common with your wife. I can help talk to her.”
Frederick shook his head. “No need, I’ll go by myself. You and Timothy can walk around nearby. I’ll come find you when I get back.”
“No!”
Timothy was relentless. He ran up and hugged Frederick’s leg. “Dad, I don’t want to just walk around nearby. Take me with you to find Mom. I miss Mom.”
Frederick pulled his son away and said sternly, “Stop making a fuss!”
“Dad has important things to discuss with Mom. After we talk, I’ll take you to see her tomorrow. Listen to Shannon at the hotel and don’t run off.”
After saying this, he looked at Shannon. “Shannon, sorry to trouble you. I’m heading out now.”
Shannon held the crying Timothy in her arms, gently patting his back as she answered Frederick.
“It’s fine, don’t worry. I’ll definitely take good care of Timothy.”
Frederick responded with a soft hum, then turned and left.
Seeing that his father really wasn’t taking him along, Timothy cried even louder and struggled in Shannon’s arms.
“Shannon, I want to go too. Can you take me to find Mom, please?”
Shannon held Timothy’s small hand, a strange emotion flickering in her eyes.
“Alright, I’ll take you.”
