You te admitting to cheating! Take them away. And trust me, your punishment won’t be light. Forget about the twenty million dollars, I’ll figure out what to do with you later.” 

James sneered, addressing the staff who had just arrived. 

Among them was the person in charge of the competition. 

He was the only one, besides Charles, who knew that Number 8 was actually Daniel. 

He glanced cautiously at Daniel. 

Daniel didn’t speak. 

But his eyes were a warning. 

The person in charge was smart. 

He understood! 

Daniel’s identity couldn’t be exposed. 

But since Daniel was clearly protecting Number 7, there was no way he could follow James’s orders and arrest her. 

“What are you standing there for? Didn’t you hear me? Or do you not recognize me?” 

James was provocatively staring at Emily, not expecting the staff to remain still. 

His expression stiffened, and he started cursing at the person in charge. 

The person in charge explained calmly, “Mr. Smith, of course, I recognize you. But even knowing who you are, I can’t break the rules. The competition values fairness and justice. No one is allowed to cause trouble on the premises. Otherwise, even you, Mr. Smith, would be escorted out and banned from entering this venue again.” 

“You dare!” 

James’s forehead veins bulged in anger, his rage impotent. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll shut this place down? Do you know what happens when you offend the Smith family?” 

The person in charge stood firm, replying fearlessly, “Mr. Smith, you don’t represent the entire Smith family. We can’t break the rules just because of someone’s threats. Otherwise, this competition would lose all credibility.” 

“Mr. Smith, stop embarrassing yourself. Didn’t you hear? No one’s buying your threats!” 

Byron had been waiting at the lounge door for Emily to come out, but when she didn’t show, he heard the commotion and came over. Seeing James giving Emily a hard time and then getting rebuffed by the person in charge was too satisfying. 

So he couldn’t help but speak up.

Once he did, others found the courage to chime in. 

“Mr. Smith, maybe you should let it go. After all, it’s the rules.” 

“Yeah, why bother? You don’t need the twenty million dollars, do you?” 

The way they said it made it seem like James was fighting for the money. 

“I’m not after the twenty million dollars! I’m saying they cheated!” 

James couldn’t help but shout in explanation. 

But Byron fanned the flames, “If it’s not about the money, what’s the point? Didn’t you see their moves at the last turn? Could you do that? Even I couldn’t. Stop embarrassing yourself.” 

Byron’s words, though not echoed aloud by others, were agreed upon in their eyes. 

Bianca had wanted to step forward, but seeing James make a fool of himself, she decided against it. She didn’t want to share in his embarrassment. 

She used to think highly of James’s status, but now she saw he was just as useless as anyone else. Not being raised as an heir from the start, he was just a disappointment brought in from outside. 

“Fine, very well. This isn’t over.” 

James couldn’t stay any longer. He spat out a threat and stormed off. 

Bianca quickly followed, despite her disdain. She still coveted his Smith family status and knew this was the best time to win James over. 

Emily watched them leave, then exchanged a glance with Daniel, thanking him, “Thanks for standing up for me. I’m heading out now.” 

Emily was about to leave. 

Those who had witnessed her impressive skills couldn’t help but try to stop her, “Are you QS? Your moves looked so familiar, just like QS from a year ago.” 

“QS, can we get to know you? Maybe exchange contact info? I’d love to ask for advice on racing.” 

Charles, who had previously been arrogant towards Emily, now smiled warmly and pulled out his phone. 

Emily, considering Charles had spoken up for her earlier, decided to let bygones be bygones. Plus, she couldn’t refuse a genuine racing enthusiast’s request. 

“I’ll add you later.” 

Emily explained that her phone wasn’t with her.

Emily left. 

Daniel’s eyes followed her until she was out of sight. 

Many wanted to meet Daniel, too, but his intimidating presence kept them at bay. With Charles running interference, no one could get close to Daniel. Once Emily was gone, he left as well. 

Emily returned to the lounge to quickly change clothes. 

Byron was excited, “Ms. Johnson, I’ll take you to all the races. We’ll be unbeatable!” 

Emily shook her head, “No time! I’m busy. I just needed to get back in practice. Besides, didn’t you notice Number 8 was even better?” 

“He was good, but you’re definitely better, Ms. Johnson!” 

Byron laughed. 

Emily shook her head, “No, he let me win! I wonder who he is.” 

“Impossible! I didn’t even notice. Could it be…?” 

Byron suddenly thought of YJ, who had retired from racing years ago, and his eyes widened in excitement. 

In the racing world, Emily and YJ were legends. 

Who would have thought a small race would bring both of them out? 

He already knew Emily was QS. Why hadn’t he thought to get YJ’s contact info?

Emily had never heard of YJ. She had raced for money and hadn’t had time to follow the scene.

“This is him. But like you, he’s very mysterious and has hidden his identity well. There’s not much information on YJ.” 

Byron sighed with some regret.
