_Rylan’s POV
The drive back from the Seer’s cottage was silent at first. The car rolled over the forest road. Trees flew past the window like ghosts, but all I could think about was Alexandra’s
face…..how innocent she looked when she smiled, how kind she pretended to be to Lisa…
and how that was all a lie.
My fists clenched on the steering wheel. The vial sat in my pocket. It was glowing faintly, as if it was alive.
“You’re quiet,” Jared finally said from the passenger seat. He was glancing at me.
“I’m thinking,” I muttered. “About how to make her drink it.”
“Do you think she’ll agree willingly?” he asked.
“No,” I said without hesitation. “She is clever. Too clever. She’ll sense something is wrong the moment I offer her anything. That’s why I’ll have to play it soft and sweet.”
Jared arched a brow. “Sweet?”
“I’ll mix the potion in juice,” I explained. “Or another drink. Something which she won’t
suspect. I’ll make it seem like I’m just worried about her. That I care. She won’t expect that.
Not from me.”
“And if she refuses?” he asked.
I didn’t even blink. “Then we use force. We will tie her down if we have to. She’ll drink it one
way or another.”
Avarok stirred in my mind. He was growling.
It won’t feel good to do this, but it must be done. She lied to us. She hurt Lisa.
I know, I answered silently. I just never thought I would be the one hurting her like this. She’s my sister.
She stopped being your sister the moment she betrayed your mate.
That truth stabbed into me deeper than anything else.
When we reached the house, the lights were on, but Alexandra wasn’t there.
“She has gone out,” Alex said. He was walking in behind me.

I nodded. “She better not be avoiding me on purpose.”
We waited.
And waited.

I checked the time again and again. Hours passed. I paced the living room like a caged animal. My mind was racing in circles. Jared and Alex sat on the couch. They were watching
- me.
Then, my phone rang.
It was an unknown number.
I answered instantly.
“Rylan,” Alexandra’s voice came through. She sounded cheerful and carefree. It grated on my
nerves.
“Where are you?” I asked while keeping my voice steady.
“Out with a friend,” she replied casually. “I’ll be late tonight. Don’t wait for me. Just eat
without me.”
I forced a calm response. “Alright. Be safe.”
When the call ended, I slammed the phone down onto the table so hard the screen cracked.
She’s avoiding us. She knows something, Avarok growled.
“I don’t know,” I whispered aloud. “But she’s not going to avoid me forever.”
Eventually, just after midnight, the front door opened.
Her scent hit me first. It was vanilla and mint. Sweet, but now it made my stomach twist.
She stepped inside. She was humming, dressed in a soft blue dress and heels. Her hair was curled loosely. Her makeup was flawless. She looked… peaceful.
But I knew better now.
“Rylan?” she called softly when she saw me standing near the kitchen. “Still awake?”
“I couldn’t sleep,” I said and forced a smile. “Thought I would wait for you.”
She gave me a curious look. “That’s rare. Everything okay?”
“I just thought you might want something warm before bed. I made you some milk.”

Her brow rose slightly. “Milk?”
I held out the glass. “You always said warm milk helped you sleep.”

She stepped forward, glanced at it… then shook her head. “Thanks, but I already had tea with my friend.”
My jaw clenched. My fake smile stayed in place. “You sure?”
She smiled politely. “Very.”
I held the glass a little longer… then pulled it back.
So, this is how it was going to be.
I nodded and placed the glass on the table. “Alright.”
I turned away. I was hiding the fury boiling in my blood.
It’s time. Avarok growled. Now or never.
I moved quickly.
Into the next room, I grabbed the rope I had hidden behind the couch earlier.
“Jared. Alex,” I said lowly. “Get ready. We’re doing this now.”
They stood without question.
We climbed the stairs together. The silence was heavy, like the air before a storm.
I knocked on her door.
She answered a moment later. She was frowning. “Rylan? What….”
“I need to talk to you. It’s urgent.”
Her
eyes
flicked between all three of us. “All of you? What’s going on?”
“We just need a few answers,” I said.
Before she could speak again, we all pushed inside. She stumbled back in surprise.
“Rylan! What the hell is this?”
Jared and Alex moved fast. Jared grabbed her right arm, Alex her left. They dragged her toward the chair by the vanity table.
“Let go of me!” she screamed. “Rylan, what are you doing?! Is this some kind of sick prank?!”

I moved to her swiftly and began tying her arms to the chair.
“I don’t want to do this, Alexandra,” I said through gritted teeth. “But you brought this on yourself.”
Her eyes went wide. “My fault? What the hell are you talking about?!”

“You drugged me!” I roared, my voice cracking. “That night. At the ball. You laced my drink. You made Lisa think I cheated on her!”
She blinked, stunned. “What?! That’s insane!”
“You poured the drinks,” I said, yanking the rope tighter. “I saw it. The Seer showed me. I saw everything.”
“I didn’t….” she started to say.
“No more lies!” I bellowed. “No more pretending to be the sweet sister who supports me and Lisa. I trusted you!”
“I didn’t do anything!” she shrieked while struggling. “You’ve gone mad! What kind of spell did that old witch put on you?!”
I took the vial from my pocket and held it up. The liquid shimmered like moonlight.
Jared tightened his grip on her head. “Hold still.”
“No! Rylan, don’t…!”
I stepped forward and pressed the vial to her lips. She clamped her mouth shut.
“Open it,” I said quietly. “Please.”
She glared at me. Her eyes filled with betrayal. “You think I would hurt you?”
“I know you did.”
“Lisa changed you,” she spat. “You used to trust me. You used to…”
“Open your mouth,” I growled. My voice was deadly calm.
When she didn’t, I tilted her head back and slowly poured the liquid against her lips. Some spilled, but most of it slid down her throat.
She gagged and tried to turn away, but I moved carefully, slowly. I didn’t want to hurt her. But I couldn’t let her stop.
It took a few minutes, but I made sure the whole vial was gone.

She sagged back in the chair, gasping.
I stood there. My chest was heaving and my heart was slamming against my ribs.
“It’s done,” I said quietly.
She stared at me, her eyes wide. “You really think I betrayed you.”
I didn’t answer. I couldn’t.
The truth was coming. And now, we would know everything.
