“You must be out of your mind to be so reckless!” Veda sneered at Emily. “Someone like you definitely doesn’t deserve Daniel. I’m right 

about that.” 

Emily ignored Veda’s gloating and turned to Mason. “Nobody’s got the guts to stand up and prove my innocence, but what about the surveillance cameras? I just checked, there are cameras over there and over there, right?” 

A place like the Smith Villa naturally has top–notch security, so surveillance cameras are a given. 

Emily’s guess was understandable. 

But pointing out those two specific, hidden locations so accurately showed she wasn’t ordinary. 

Mason’s expression turned serious as he faced Emily. 

Veda’s eyes flickered with guilt. She had completely forgotten about the cameras. The fact that Emily, who seemed inexperienced, had thought of this was crucial. 

No way, they couldn’t check the cameras. 

Feigning a relaxed demeanor, Veda laughed and said, “Unfortunately, the cameras weren’t on today because of the party. It would be so disrespectful!” 

Mason didn’t say anything. 

He tacitly agreed with Veda and continued to question Emily with a stern face. “Without this evidence, it seems the situation might not be as you described. If it turns out you came here to bully the Smith family, you’ll have to face the consequences.”

“I’ve told you, as long as you don’t suffer, you can do whatever you want.” 

His eyes were serious and sincere as he said this, and his trust enveloped Emily completely.

Daniel’s deep eyes reflected Emily’s increasingly bright face. 

Emily smiled, clearly enjoying his words. “You should have someone follow Veda and see who she’s been in contact with lately. I smelled a faint scent on her that matches the poison you were affected by. It’s very faint, so I suspect she came into contact with the real culprit and got contaminated.” 

“Alright, I’ll have someone investigate immediately!” 

Daniel agreed without a hint of doubt. 

Emily nodded. “Also, Raina and the elder lady earlier might be involved. I’m not sure, but my intuition says there’s something off. If we have enough manpower, we should investigate them too.”
