Chooses Madness 202

Chapter 202

Kayla, you can’t seriously believe that trash heap from Class Gled by you and Payton, a bunch of academic disasters who barely understand anythingis going to make up for not having a teacher just by putting on a show of studying a little longer at night, right?

Do you really think that will improve your grades? Let me tell you somethingthat’s nothing but a delusional fantasy. No matter how hard you try, it’s all wasted effort. You should just give up now. Admit defeat while you still can and accept your punishment.”

The more Marianna spoke, the more smug she became. In her mind, Kayla losing this bet was already a done

deal.

Marianna continued her mockery. Ew, don’t tell me you already know you can’t beat us, so you’ve given up and decided to throw in the towel?”

Davon stood beside her. Though he didn’t mock them directly, his expression made it clear he agreed with everything Marianna said.

Kayla met their gazes with a cold stare, her eyes unwavering. Aren’t you celebrating a little too early? Who said I’m giving up?

The outcome hasn’t been decided yet, so what makes you so sure we’ll lose? Or is it that seeing how hard we’re working has you scared? Is that why you’re trying to use these pathetic tactics to shake my confidence?”

Marianna let out a disdainful snort. When it comes to academics, hard work and confidence don’t guarantee victory. Since you’re so clueless, just wait and see. I’m really curious whether you’ll still be able to talk this tough when the results come out.”

Forget about Kayla and Payton’s pathetic abilitieseven if they worked themselves to death, there was no way they could surpass her and Davon.

Even if Kayla and Payton somehow managed to cheat their way to some improvement, Tristian would never let them win.

There was only one outcome left for Kayla and Paytondefeat.

Kayla didn’t bother wasting more words on them. Her peripheral vision caught something, and she noticed the bag Marianna was holding. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

Hold upif I’m not mistaken, isn’t that the brand new bag my mom just got for me today? How come it’s in your hands? Don’t tell me you actually sneaked into my house to steal it,Kayla said, her tone dripping with suspicion.

Kayla naturally knew they couldn’t have gone to Sexton Villa to steal anything, but she was intensely curious about what exactly they had done there.

Davon noticed the bag in Marianna’s hand only then. The bag looked expensive at first glanceclearly a gift

from Tristian.

At that thought, Davon’s eyes darkened, displeasure evident in his expression. Tristian obviously has ulterior

motives toward Marianna,he thought. How could Marianna accept gifts from him?‘

Marianna instinctively tightened her grip on the bag and lifted her chin slightly, her tone dripping with disdain.

She said, Even though you’re Ms. Sexton, you can’t just slander people like this. I’m a guest invited to the Sexton family, and someone gave me this bag. Don’t try to frame me.”

Kayla understood immediatelyMarianna had actually gone to Sexton villa.

As for who would have invited her, Kayla didn’t need to think twice. It could only be Tristian.

What Kayla couldn’t understand was why Marianna would suddenly show up at Sexton Villa.

Before Kayla could figure it out, her phone rang abruptly.

She glanced at the caller ID. It was the police station.

Kayla shot a quick look at Marianna and Davon, then walked a few steps away before answering the call.

The officer said, Ms. Sexton, given that your brother voluntarily dropped the charges and is no longer pursuing those punks, we’ve given them a warning and released them without charges.”

The moment those words hit her ears, Kayla’s expression darkened. Her gaze shifted to Marianna and Davon, turning colder with each passing second.

So that was how it was. That explained why Marianna and Davon had suddenly appeared at Sexton Villa, with Davon looking remarkably relaxed and carefree. They’d gotten backup and handled the punk situation behind her back.

She wasn’t even eighteen yet. Tristian, using his authority as her brother, had dropped the charges against those thugs, and there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it right now.

That bastard Tristian really has no shame, she thought bitterly.
