“People who get tricked into going over there, it’s not easy to rescue them. How do you plan to convince me?” Knox asked, a smirk playing 

on his lips. 

Bianca bit her lip, looking both humiliated and resolute. She seemed to gather her courage before speaking again. 

“I don’t have much to offer, except my skills in painting and design… and myself.” 

She met Knox’s gaze with unwavering determination. 

Knox looked her over, as if appraising her worth. 

“You know, the one thing I don’t lack around me is the admiration of the women,” he said, his tone dripping with condescension. 

Bianca’s eyes welled up with tears of humiliation. “When I said myself, I meant my medical skills. I am familiar with various massage 

techniques and holistic health practices. I can take care of your health. What do you think I am? I never intended to sell myself!” 

Knox chuckled, clearly amused. “Isn’t that a bit contradictory? You just said you’d do anything for Hayden, but now you’re acting all virtuous. My time is valuable, and I don’t have time for games.” 

With that, he called for a server to escort her out. 

Bianca panicked. She clenched her fists, making a firm decision. “Fine, for Hayden, if you want my body, you can have it! Just promise me you’ll rescue Hayden.” 

Knox looked at her deeply. “Alright.” 

Bianca felt a surge of joy. She knew that when it came to men, she could get what she wanted if she tried hard enough. Emily might be talented, but any man who liked Emily would eventually be hers. If she could handle a man as difficult as Knox, maybe she could also 

consider Daniel. 

As she thought about it, she began to plan. Unbeknownst to her, Knox noticed every subtle expression of hers. 

Knox sneered inwardly. Bianca couldn’t compare to even a strand of Emily’s hair. The Johnson family must be blind. 

“Go home. I’ll arrange a meeting to sign a contract, and then I’ll save your Hayden.” 

“A contract? Bianca frowned, her voice sharp. 

“What? You don’t want to do it? You just said you’d give yourself to me for Hayden. Now you’re backing out? Are you playing me?” Knox seemed about to lose his temper. 

Bianca didn’t want to ruin her chances. She thought of the novels she often read, where the heroine sold herself to the hero for her

Inside, the dishes had been cleared, and the group had moved to a lounge area. Emily was discussing the integration of embroidery and fashion with the master embroiderer, Carl Ward. 

“Few young people have your patience, interest, and talent. If you want to learn, come to my shop. I’ll teach you personally,” Carl said. Carl valued tradition and his skillset highly. This craft required talent and perseverance, which were hard to find in today’s fast–paced society. Having found a promising student now, Carl didn’t want to miss the opportunity. 

Emily was flattered and leaned close to Daniel, whispering, “Is Mr. Ward offering to teach me because of you? I love this craft, but I never 

thought I’d find a teacher.” 

Just being able to learn was a great honor. 

Emily’s subtle herbal scent wafted over Daniel as she leaned in, her warm breath tickling his ear. Her scent was soothing, making his heart race. Suppressing his feelings, he replied in a deep, husky voice, “It’s not because of me. Your talent made Carl eager to teach you. Don’t 

underestimate yourself.” 

Emily felt reassured by Daniel’s sincere gaze. 

She smiled at Carl. “I’m thrilled to be your student. I’d love to learn, and I hope Mr. Ward won’t find me too slow!” 

“Don’t worry. I trust you and my judgment. As my first student, I have a gift for you,” Carl said. 

Daniel glanced at Carl, worried Carl might give away his planned gift for Emily. He wanted to keep it a surprise, which made him tense. Carl, who valued etiquette, wouldn’t do such a thing. Luckily, Daniel didn’t voice his concern. Carl had someone bring a measuring tape to 

take Emily’s measurements. 

“Mr. Ward, what are you…” Emily had a hunch. 

“With your grace and figure, you can showcase the beauty of our traditional clothes. It shouldn’t be wasted,” Carl smiled. His handmade clothes, including the embroidery, were exquisite. Even Daniel, who had seen it all, was delighted by Carl’s decision. 

Emily gained a lot from the conversation. So, when she left with Daniel, her smile never faded. Daniel rarely saw Emily so genuinely happy and unguarded. Seeing her so joyful, he felt he had done the right thing. 

Emily was so happy she forgot about Knox. She chatted with Daniel, walking right past Knox. Just like that! 

Knox was about to greet her, but was ignored. Daniel was glad Emily overlooked Knox and wouldn’t remind her. But Charles, feeling sorry for Knox, did not think twice before he spoke up.
