Chapter 1500

“This question,” Yvonne said, her red lips curving into a faint smile. “I find very interesting.”

“The topic you mentioned is something I’ve been thinking about myself. As for Mr. Carter and me, we’ve always been the best of partners.

“We were before, we are now, and we will be in the future. So, I can tell you with certainty, our collaboration will never end.”

At her words, the reporters lit up with excitement.

One of them replied eagerly, “That’s wonderful to hear, Miss Song. It sounds like you and Mr. Carter have more projects ahead. We look forward to seeing your future work together. Wishing you both great success.”

“Thank you,” Yvonne replied lightly, clearly in a good mood.

In her eyes, only a man like Lucas, someone who lived above the clouds, was truly worthy of her. No one else even came close. Every other man seemed dull and forgettable.

But Yvonne was a woman of ambition, and she knew how to hide it well.

She never revealed more than necessary. Lucas was a man driven by his career, and the only way to stay by his side was to tie him to her through business. That was the most effective way.

Then another reporter asked, “Miss Song, it’s said that Mr. Carter is already married. Were you aware of that?”

A flash of cold light crossed Yvonne’s eyes, her hand at her side curling into a tight fist.

Of course she knew.

That was exactly why she had rushed back. She’d always believed that as long as she stayed close to him, as his partner and equal, no other woman would ever measure up.

But to her shock, Lucas had married quietly.

“I’m aware of that, of course,” Yvonne replied smoothly, smiling with practiced grace. “But since we’re partners, I can only wish him well.”

Her tone remained steady, and the curve of her lips didn’t falter, but anyone watching closely could see the stiffness in her posture.

The idea of another woman standing beside Lucas was something she simply couldn’t tolerate.

Still, the reporters pressed on. “Rumor has it Mr. Carter’s wife is the owner of the newly opened studio, Frost & Clear Studio-Miss Walton. She’s about to appear on a variety show. Do you have anything you’d like to say to her?”

Yvonne had already looked into Aurora before returning.

She was just a small studio owner and an heiress of a family with modest wealth.

Compared to the Carters or the Songs, it was laughable-like a sparrow trying to challenge an eagle.

For someone like that to marry Lucas, she must have burned through every ounce of luck in her lifetime. “Miss Walton joining a show?” Yvonne lifted her chin slightly, her smile sharpening.

“I imagine that was arranged through Mr. Carter’s connections. But really, a socialite’s wife shouldn’t be jumping on the ‘independent woman’ trend for publicity.”

The words slipped out coolly, every syllable deliberate. She knew exactly what kind of stir her remark would cause, but she didn’t care. She had the power to weather it.

Gasps rippled through the group. The reporters exchanged uneasy looks, stunned by her boldness.

It was clear now that Yvonne had just drawn a public line in the sand with Lucas’ wife. The rivalry was no longer silent.
