Everyone envied her. They all knew her family background was exceptional, so no one had ever dared go against 

her. 

Whenever she made a call, she was always the one to hang up first. Nothing like this had ever happened before. 

Yvonne slowly tightened her grip on the phone, her fingertips turning pale. “Edwin, you’ll regret this. I’ll make you see that I did nothing wrong. Lucas would never be angry with me. 

“Between me and Aurora, he’ll choose me. I’ll prove to you all that Aurora is nothing compared to me.” 

Taking a deep breath, Yvonne pulled up Aurora’s information and began studying it carefully, especially the details about the show. 

She already knew what Aurora was planning to present. 

Those architectural concepts? She could easily outshine her. 

So, what if she owned a small studio? Did she really think that made her untouchable? 

Yvonne was certain Lucas had helped her set it up anyway. 

In her eyes, Aurora was nothing more than a freeloader who survived off Lucas’ support. 

Without him, she’d be nothing. 

But Yvonne was different. Even without Lucas, she had her own family and her own standing. 

Her name carried weight in the industry, far more than Aurora’s. 

Whenever people mentioned Lucas, the only woman who could be compared to him was her. 

The thought made Yvonne lift her chin proudly, completely dismissing Aurora in her mind. 

Yet when she finally saw Aurora’s photo, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes. 

She hadn’t expected her to look that beautiful. 

Yvonne muttered under her breath, “So what if she’s pretty? She’s just a pretty face.” 

Her hand tightened around the mouse, knuckles whitening. 

No one knew what Yvonne was thinking at that very moment. 

The next morning, Lucas arrived in Bustin City. 

Looking at the tall buildings before him, all he could think about was Aurora’s face. 

They had only been apart for a day, yet his mind was already with her. 

He couldn’t suppress the urge to see her again.

Just as he finished unpacking, his phone rang.

Her tone was bright and cheerful. “Lucas, have you arrived in Bustin City yet?” 

He replied coolly with a simple “Mm, what is it?” 

“We haven’t seen each other in so long. Why are you being so cold?” Yvonne said lightly, pretending to joke. 

She knew he’d always been like this, but she still hoped she could be an exception, someone special to him. 

Not just another person he treated with the same distant politeness. 

“What is it?” Lucas repeated, clearly uninterested in idle talk. 

He wanted to finish settling in and head straight to the set to find Aurora. 

He already knew the time and place of the shoot. 

There was no time to waste chatting with Yvonne.
