“If we were just going to use Christian to break Shane, I’m not sure it would work. But Enya is the older sibling. She’s part of his pack. Now that Enya is pregnant, we can use her to say that Christian might have decided he needs more stability in his life, maybe he wants HIS pup to become an Alpha heir, and with her being the daughter of their previous Alpha and Luna, the pack will accept them easily. Christian saved the pack when they were falling apart. Maybe they WANT Christian to be their Alpha,” I say. 

“And we can throw in the Beta and Gamma that he’s working with, slowly turning them against Shane while he’s here, letting Sebastiana use him to get ahead at the Academy,” Dane adds. 

“Do you 

you think he’ll fall for her using him?” Jackson asks. 

“If we plant the seed of doubt about Christian, then Sebastiana will come easier. He’s going to be tough to crack. He’s become very close to both of them, obviously. But they are the key to breaking him, I think,” Dane says. “Trust is his issue and he trusts both of them implicitly, for 

now.” 

“I agree. It has to be people he trusts who he feels are betraying him,” I say. “And with Sebi already broken, she’s not going to be the strong force, making him see that we’ve used her and Christian against him. 

” 

“Good luck, you two. You’re going to need it with him,” Benjamin says. “Now, Nicholas on the 

other hand…’

That night, after making love to my mate, she props herself up on her elbow and looks at me, running her fingers over my chest in the way that I love. 

” 

“Are you going to be okay next week?” she asks. 

I slide my fingers over her cheek and tuck her hair behind her ear. “I may need your help to be okay.” 

“I know you love your sister. I love her too. It will be okay, Ryan.” ·

I nod, looking at my fingers playing with her hair rather than letting her see the torment in my 

eyes. 

She turns and kisses my hand. 

“She’s strong, Ry. And you and Dane are going to build her back up so she’s even stronger than she is now. 

” 

I finally meet her gaze. “I don’t want to see her broken,” I whisper. “She’s always been larger than life, Caroline, even as a baby.” 

She looks at me with love shining in her eyes. Then she leans down and kisses me gently. “You are such a good man. And that is how I know that you will make sure she comes back stronger than ever. You won’t let her stay broken,” she says, sliding over me. 

She slides herself onto my instantly hard length and sits up, letting her head fall back while I look at her beautiful body. 

“And when you need me to take you away from everything, to get you out of your head about it, I’ Il be right here,” she says as she begins to ride me. 

And thankfully, she does just that, eliminating everything in my head except her and how much I love my mate. 

Shane 

The end of the first week came quickly. There’s not a lot of time to be idle at the Academy. Classes run seven days a week, but the schedule is lighter on the weekends, giving us time to study and get ready for the next week.
