She lowered her head and apologized to Aurora earnestly. 

Aurora was a little surprised by her reaction. She hadn’t expected her earlier words to affect Megan so deeply.

Aurora smiled. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have gotten over the shadow of my family so quickly. You know what my mother is like with me. 

“If not for you, how could I have moved on so fast?” 

“Do you really mean that?” Megan looked up, staring at Aurora in surprise. 

Aurora looked at her seriously, her expression solemn. “Of course, I meant every word. It’s because of your companionship that I was able to move on so quickly. You’re an irreplaceable part of my life. 

“So don’t put yourself down like that. We’re equals, and we’ll always be best friends and family.” 

Her voice choked slightly as she went on, “You’re the family I chose myself. How could I ever see you as a burden? I’m more than happy to have you in my life.” 

Hearing that, Megan could no longer hold back her emotions. She threw her arms around Aurora. 

“Aurora, I knew you were the best.” 

“Alright, don’t get all teary now. We still have to get out and record the show later. If someone sees that face of yours all smudged like a little cat, they’ll think I bullied you.” 

Megan protested indignantly, “Don’t be ridiculous-if you ever treated me badly, I’d completely lose faith in people.”
