Chapter 1540

Yvonne smiled and nodded in Aurora’s direction.

Aurora had been standing quietly off to the side. She never liked drawing attention to herself. She was just an ordinary person, not one of the celebrities.

Before filming, she had already spoken with the director, making it clear she didn’t need any special spotlight on the show, just a simple introduction of her company would be enough.

But she hadn’t expected Yvonne to suddenly bring her up like that.

The mention caught her off guard; she wasn’t at all prepared for it.

At once, the crowd’s attention shifted toward the edge of the group where Aurora stood.

Murmurs rippled through the room.

“I didn’t realize Miss Walton actually owns a studio.”

“Funny, I’ve never heard of it before.”

“Probably just a small company. Otherwise, how could we not know?”

“I remember seeing something online-people saying she only got her company through her marriage connections. Could that be true?”

“No idea what kind of studio it even is. I’ve never heard a word about it.”

Standing beside Aurora, Megan clenched her fists in anger. She wanted to step forward and defend her.

These people didn’t know anything-how dare they talk like that?

The studio was Aurora’s hard work, her pride. It had nothing to do with anyone else, and whether it was big or small, it was hers.

Just as Megan opened her mouth to speak, Aurora reached out and stopped her. Even the director looked uneasy about how things were turning.

Aurora held Megan back, her expression calm but resolute. As the whispers continued around her, her smile slowly deepened.

She took a step forward, lifted her chin slightly, and said evenly, “So, are you all that curious about my life?”

When Aurora spoke, everyone exchanged uncertain looks, unsure how to respond.

After all, it was her private life, prying too much would only make them look bad.

Aurora wasn’t surprised by the silence. It was exactly what she expected. People always avoided standing out when things got tense; no one wanted to be the one to draw fire.

“Weren’t you all just talking so enthusiastically a moment ago?” she asked calmly. “Didn’t you want to know what kind of studio I run?”

1/2

She hadn’t expected anyone to actually answer, but to her surprise, one of the actresses suddenly stepped forward.

“Miss Walton, you said you run a studio-we were just… a little surprised, that’s all.”

“What’s there to be surprised about?” Aurora lifted a brow, genuinely intrigued by the tone of her question.

From the way she said it, was she implying that women couldn’t own studios? Or was she simply belittling hers for being small?

“I just meant… it’s rare to hear about women running their own studios. And since you’re on this show, I’m curious-why haven’t I heard of it before? What’s it called?”

As Lina spoke, a polite smile lingered on her face.

Her eyes met Aurora’s for a brief moment, but almost immediately she looked away, suddenly uneasy.

For some reason, the calm intensity in Aurora’s gaze seemed to pierce straight through her, leaving her with an inexplicable sense of guilt.
